Cobra Kai season 4 has been dropping teasers even though the official release date is yet to be revealed. Just recently, Netflix unveiled another new video teasing the return of a notable villain in the movie, The Karate Kid Part III. It was confirmed that Thomas Ian Griffith will reprise his villainous role, Terry Silver.

Griffith's character is one of the major antagonists of the film franchise, on which the martial arts comedy-drama is based on. Now, Terry Silver is coming back in Cobra Kai season 4 and he's going to have a major role in the show moving forward.

In the film franchise, Silver was one of the co-founders of the titular dojo and John Kreese's (Martin Kove) close during his military days. In the third movie, he orchestrated a plan to help the latter to get revenge on Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio).

Silver tricked Daniel to train with him and his real motive was revealed later on. He was actually setting him up to lose to Mike Barnes (Sean Kanan) in the All Valley Karate Tournament. However, his plan failed and he hasn't appeared since then.

With Griffith's return as Silver in Cobra Kai season 4, the series is now expanding its universe by exploring the past characters in the films. The recently-released clip teased that he is going to shake up the world of both Daniel and Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka).

The video featured a pony-tailed Silver standing in the darkness as his voiceover plays in the background. He can be heard saying: "If a man can't stand, he can't fight. If a man can't breathe, he can't fight. If a man can't see, he can't fight. Extreme situations require extreme measures."

It would be interesting to see how Silver re-enters the story in Cobra Kai season 4, as well as what and where he's been up to over the past years. Since Kreese also returned to a more antagonistic role in the series, there is a huge possibility that the two become a huge thorn for both Daniel and Johnny.

In the third installment, Kreese serves as a major villain for Daniel and Johnny, and the arrival of Silver proves that more challenges are coming for them along the way. Other characters from the film may also show up and they could either help or destroy Macchio and Zabka's characters.

Cobra Kai season 4 is slated to premiere at some point in late 2021 on Netflix.
