Cobra Kai season 4 is has been already set on Netflix. Fans don't need to be worried about the future marital arts comedy-drama as the streaming platform renewed the fourth installment prior to the official premiere of season 3. Now, the only thing that is in question is when filming could begin.

The official production schedule of Cobra Kai season 4 hasn't been set at the moment. Certain things must be considered first before starting everything up -- especially in the times of the COVID-19 pandemic. While filming could start in 2021, some things may still change depending on the situation.

In a previous interview with Pop Culture, executive producer Josh Heald discussed what their plans are for the next installment. He said that the health crisis has "thrown a wrench" in their plans for when production could kick-off. Despite that, they expect filming to begin in "early 2021."

At the moment, Heald noted that they're making sure the story will make sense, and the scripts are being solid so they can begin the moment everything looks good. They're making sure that the next installment will be as perfect as the preceding ones.

When the filming of Cobra Kai season 4 starts, all proper precautions and health guidelines will be placed. The safety of the cast and crew remains to be the top priority. All of them are required to comply with the protocols to avoid production delays along the way.

Since the series films in Los Angeles, there are several challenges due to the increase of COVID-19 cases in California. The production for the next installment might be slower, given that filming restrictions will be implemented. Because of this, the official release date might be pushed back, as well.

Cobra Kai season 4 official release date hasn't been revealed since production has yet to begin. But then, the show is eyeing a potential 2022 premiere schedule. According to executive producer Jon Hurwitz, the fourth outing may come out "a year after season."

As for the plot, it will continue what transpired at the end of season 3. Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio) and Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka) made peace. However, things get complicated again when John Kreese's (Martin Kove) students invaded the LaRusso's house.

This leads to a huge conflict, which potentially sets up a major storyline in Cobra Kai season 4. The three dojos -- Kreese's Cobra Kai, Johnny's Eagle Fang, as well as Daniel's Miyagi-Do -o compete in the All Valley Under 18 Karate Tournament. If Kreese loses, he promises that he would leave them.
