Queen of the South season 5 episode 9 will be the last one before the crime drama before heading to the official series finale. The title of the penultimate is "A Prueba de Balas" and will continue to see Teresa Mendoza's (Alice Braga) journey climbing up to the top to the be queenpin.
Queen of the South season 5 episode 9 is building up more stories for Teresa and other characters leading to the series finale. Next week's outing is the continuation of what transpired in episode 8, titled "Todo Lo Que Toco," where it sees Braga's character putting her life on the line.
In the penultimate episode, Teresa will further risk her life to make her plan happen and protect her own empire. There's a potential suicide mission coming here, which adds more concern on whether or not she makes it out alive until the end.
According to the synopsis of Queen of the South season 5 episode 9, Teresa and James Valdez (Peter Gadiot) team up and was forced to go after Kostya (Pasha Lychnikoff). The latter serves as one of the biggest adversaries in the final installment.
Teresa and James' mission to hunt Kostya down won't be an easy one. They may find themselves in danger, considering what the latter can do. But, if the duo will be successful in taking this person down, there's a huge chance they could get whatever they want.
For Teresa, she could climb up to the top, allowing her to run one of the biggest carters in the world. Many will recognize her and sees her as a queenpin. It can be recalled that this woman started from the bottom and everything she's been through has brought her to where she is right now.
Meanwhile, Queen of the South season 5 episode 9 will also focus on other characters and will bring a story away from the chaotic world of Teresa. For instance, Pote Galvez (Hemky Madera) and Kelly Anne Wan Awken (Molly Burnett) adapt to suburban life.
Pote may not be able to help Teresa with the biggest battle of her life. If ever she can't kill Kostya, this man will become more powerful and untouchable. That means Braga's character will be in danger and may not have a normal life at all.
