"Jujutsu Kaisen" has dropped more details about the upcoming "Jujutsu Kaisen 0" movie. After the release of a trailer and major key art now comes the origin story of the lead character, Yuta Okkotsu.

After the anime's first season finale, Studio MAPPA announced the coming of a new movie instead of the second season. Though Season 2 is said to be in the works, fans are now more looking forward to seeing "Jujutsu Kaisen 0."

However, instead of Yuji Itadori's story, the film will feature Yuta from Gege Akutami's prequel series "Jujutsu Kaisen 0: Jujutsu High." This part of the story was made long before "Jujutsu Kaisen" emerged.

At the time, it was serialized in Shueisha's Weekly Shone Jump magazine with the title "Tokyo Metropolitan Curse Technical School."

According to Comicbook, Twitter user Kaikaikitan shared and translated the character details, along with the prequel's main plot.

"When he was a child, he lost his childhood friend, Rika, whom he had promised to get married with, in a traffic accident in front of him and he was haunted by her [after she] became a curse," it reads. "He has avoided contact with people because Rika hurts people around him with her enormous power, but he vows to break the curse of his 'beloved' when he meets Satoru Gojo, a teacher at Jujutsu Technical College."

 

Meanwhile, along with "Jujutsu Kaisen 0" announcement, Studio MAPPA also dropped a short trailer after the first season finale. The 30-second clip might lack the film's major details, but it hinted at how the story would flow.

It teased how the plot would center on other Jujutsu High students who have been part of the franchise's main series. As it would center mostly on Yuta, Polygon reported it might also give a glimpse to the backstories of the likes of Panda and Satoru Gojo, the series' most powerful Jujutsu sorcerer."

Knowing he is the most famous Jujutsu High teacher and the breakout character from the anime's first season, Gojo may play a major role here. Fans may also see Geto takes Gojo and others in the movie as he makes his first real move.

Anyhow, Studio MAPPA is yet to announce the exact release date of "Jujutsu High 0," though it revealed the winter timeframe. As it may hit the Japan theatres first, it remains to be seen if it will receive an international release.
