Now that Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani have tied the knot, rumors have it the country singer wants to adopt his wife's kids. However, the No Doubt former frontwoman's ex-husband, Gavin Rossdale, allegedly, comes in the way.
Is it true that Rossdale does not want Shelton to adopt his three kids, Kingston, Zuma, and Apollo Rossdale? Will this result in a brawl between the two men in Stefani's life?
Woman's Day claimed the "God's Country" hitmaker is not satisfied to be just the stepdad of Stefani's kids. But as much as he wants to adopt the boys, the Bush vocalist is, allegedly, getting in the way.
An alleged source said Shelton loves Kingston, Zuma, and Apollo like his own son. So, he does not want to be just a friend, but he wants to become their legal father.
However, there is a catch. Rossdale has no plans to "hand over his parental rights" to Stefani's new husband. The insider added the British musician was "sounding a firm no" and did not appreciate Shelton's move to "steal his kids away."
So, is there truth to this claim? Gossip Cop debunked this report, describing it as "delusional."
The tabloid did not give enough evidence to prove Miranda Lambert's ex-husband was not satisfied with being the kids' stepfather. By the looks of it, Shelton seems to have no reason to snatch Rossdale of his parental rights.
There is also no reason for Shelton to be discontented with being the kids' stepdad. In fact, he himself told UsWeekly that his stepfather is one of his heroes.
He even considers him as his good inspiration to be the stepfather that he wants to be. So, it looks like there is no truth to the adoption story at all, and it is maybe enough for him to be the stepfather of Stefani's kids.
In fact, he has willingly taken the role of a father for Kingston, Zuma, and Apollo. A different source told HollywoodLife the kid thinks of him as a father figure in return.
They have big respect for Shelton and love and appreciate his being there for them. The insider added the "The Voice" judge already made it his mission to be a good role model for the three.
He loves his role as their stepdad, and he has no intention to take the place of Rossdale. Despite the "The Machinehead" singer's failed marriage with Stefani, he is still very much in their lives.
