A long list of prominent Republican legislators on Thursday called for United States President Joe Biden to be impeached or to step down following the deadly bombings near the Harmid Karzai International Airport in Afghanistan.

The terrorist attacks in Kabul claimed the lives of at least 12 U.S. military service personnel and injured an unknown number of people after two bombs went off outside of the Kabul airport.

The GOP politicians contend Biden's decisions created a humanitarian crisis that shows he's not capable of leadership.

Nikki Haley, former envoy to the United Nations, called for Biden to quit - but expressed worry about leaving U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris in charge.

"Should Biden be removed or resign for his handling of Afghanistan? Yes," Haley said on Twitter. "But that would leave us with Kamala Harris which would be 10 times worse."

U.S. Congressman Brian Babin has called for Biden to resign, or be impeached. Biden's incompetence, he said, has crossed our nation and the world "to the point of no return."

Representative Diana Harshbarger is also calling for Biden to be removed from office. She accused Biden of having no plan to get Americans and allies out of the "disastrous withdrawal" in Afghanistan.

Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene filed three articles of impeachment last week against Biden. Senator Lindsey Graham has also called for his removal.

In a tweet, Tennessee Senator Marsha Blackburn said Biden, Harris, State Secretary Antony Blinken, and Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin should all step down or face impeachment and removal from office.

In a statement, Missouri Sen. Josh Hawley said the terror attack at Kabul airport is the "product of Biden's catastrophic failure" of leadership.

Hawley said the president has neither the will nor the capacity to lead and that he must resign.

Members of the U.S. Congress laid down lots of criticism.

For Rep. Ronny Jackson of Texas, he said the time has come to remove Biden for gross negligence in Afghanistan.

"Americans deserve better," Jackson said. "We deserve better than someone who willfully ignores the worst crisis in decades."

Texas Rep. Roger Williams said Thursday's bombings in Kabul are the tragic results of the decisions of "a failed American President."
