Queen Elizabeth II is about to celebrate her Platinum Jubilee next year. Like other celebrations like this, there will be a medal ceremony and one of the recipients is, reportedly, Prince Andrew.

With the scandal Prince Andrew is facing today, e.g., an alleged sexual assault, many have questioned Queen Elizabeth's move. However, as a monarch who has been in service for 70 years, she probably knows what she is doing.

So, why will Her Majesty risk honoring his son despite knowing there will be a public uproar? The answer is simple.

NBC News revealed the head of state would award frontline workers and emergency service members for their service to the monarchy for about five years. This, too, will include royal family members who have served the realm for a year.

Evidently, this will involve the Duke of York. Why is that so? Duty and service have been Queen Elizabeth's top priority.

She has always put her personal feelings and opinions aside, not even letting the public opinion persuade her. So, though many believe Prince Andrew is her favorite child, he will be one of the Platinum Jubilee medal recipients because of the public service he has done.

To recall, the troubled prince served with honors in the Falklands War and was even deemed a hero. It is also good to note that the queen has remained mum about the issues of her family.

In fact, Prince Andrew's scandal is not the only family disgrace she has encountered. In her seven decades on the throne, she has faced issues from her sister Margaret to Princess Diana to Sarah Ferguson to the most recent one, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's controversial royal exit.

Despite these, though, she has remained unshakeable. However, it also cannot be denied that the Prince Andrew imbroglio is probably the worse and "potentially criminal."

For the last couple of years, the father-of-two has been facing a lawsuit filed by Virginia Roberts Giuffre, who accused her of having sex with her at the age of 17 in 2001. Though he has maintained his innocence and denied the accusation, he has now acknowledged that he is facing a sex assault lawsuit, per USA Today.

A joint agreement signed by Prince Andrew's lawyer confirmed the acknowledgment. A Manhattan federal judge has, then, approved the claim and entered into the public court on Tuesday, Sept. 28.

In the lawsuit, Giuffre alleged Prince Andrew raped and sexually assaulted her after the latter's former friend and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein trafficked her to the prince. The woman insisted the duke knew it at the time, but his lawyer called this allegation "baseless."
