Jeon So-mi graced the YouTube series "Tur-Kid" with the host Lee Yong-jin and answered an important question. Though years had passed when the issues of her departure from JYP Entertainment started, the singer gamely revealed the reason for her exit.

So-mi was promoting her new album, "XOXO," when Yong-jin asked him a question that caught her off guard. The 20-year-old star could not help but burst into laughter upon hearing the question about leaving JYP, revealing she had not heard it in the past three years.

Despite that, the "Birthday" hitmaker let Yong-jin ask him the question, saying she even liked it, per AllKpop. The host went straight and told her the rumors that she was leaving malicious comments about the entertainment company everywhere.

Though Yong-jin was confident that it was not true, he still wanted to get some answers from So-mi herself. "Why did you leave the company?" he asked.

She, then, explained that after she left IOI, she did not have any work to do for a long while, so she ended up going to the sub-label at YG Entertainment. Yong-jin, then, asked her again if she felt any regrets, to which she said "never."

She went on to say that she was 100% content with her current company and had no complaints. She also revealed the reason behind her solo debut, saying she was the only artist at the company besides Zion.T.

To recall, So-mi left JYP in August 2018. The company, then, released an official statement, saying she left because her contract had already ended, Channel Korea noted.

Despite that, though, fans were still not convinced. Many believed it was because she did not become a part of any girl group or even experienced an official debut as a solo artist or a part of a team.

There were speculations that she would be part of Twice, but that did not happen. She, then, surprised the world when she left JYP.

So-mi's decision received mixed reactions, from the good to the bad ones. Anyhow, she still has a legion of fans who continuously support her.

Anyhow, a month after leaving JYP, she had found a new home, The Black Label. JYP, then, released a lengthy statement, thanking fans for continuously supporting the company and the artists who were following its rules. Many believed it was a reference to So-mi, though JYP and the artist herself had stayed mum about it.
