Weeks have passed since Meghan Markle appeared on "The Ellen Show." But, the talks about what went down during the engagement continue to emerge these days.
Sources told the National Enquirer that the former "Suits" actress's stint on the show blew up in her face. Instead of boosting and manifesting the desired image before the public, she has become a "laughing-stock" in Hollywood.
The insiders continued that "cringeworthy antics" only exposed her real character. She failed "miserably" in boosting her supposed Hollywood brand, with some even stating that power players in the industry are now running away from her.
Apart from the apparent criticisms from the public, there are also reportedly some assertions that came from a high-level courtier. As alleged, royals, especially Prince William and Kate Middleton, are "outraged" by the stunt Meghan Markle pulled.
The unnamed source stated, as well, that the Duchess of Sussex has proved, once again, she could stoop much "lower in bringing shame and scandal" to the British Royal Family. The members could not allegedly believe that Prince Harry's wife allowed it to happen.
Some experts seemingly agree, as per the same publication. As claimed, the appearance she did "demeaned her credibility," adding that it was an embarrassment to the family.
Meghan Markle appeared on "The Ellen Show" on November 18. Apart from doing an in-studio interview, she participated in a "prank," involving unsuspected vendors.
Ellen DeGeneres secretly ordered her to do things in front of the Duchess's audience. These include squatting, drinking milk out of a baby bottle, and eating cookies like a chipmunk.
Upon seeing the video, reports said that it received a mixed reception from the public. While many fans applauded the Duchess of Sussex for being down-to-earth, others described it "cringeworthy" and embarrassing.
A royal author even stated that it was the "opposite of dignified," according to Fox News. It made her look "even more fame-hungry than ever."
Anna Pasternak, who penned the book, "The American Duchess: The Real Wallis Simpson," added that Meghan Markle not only embarrassed the royals, but she also did it to herself.
Aside from this, the royal author also questioned as to why Markle continues to use her royal title even after stepping down. She mused that Prince Harry's wife seemingly capitalizes on it to boost her popularity in North America.
Meanwhile, the British Royals remain silent about the matter. They have yet to release official statements or remarks about Meghan Markle, especially her latest appearance on "The Ellen Show."
