"Snowdrop" may have come to an end, but the talks about the successful JTBC series continue. As it is about to hit the streaming website Disney+, BLACKPINK's Jisoo admits she declines to sing the series' official soundtrack, "Friend."

In her recent VLive, Jisoo admitted to being offered to sing "Snowdrop" original soundtrack. Despite being one of its lead cast, she revealed the reason as to why she refused.

AllKpop noted that the singer-actress revealed she said "no" when asked to sing the show's official song. Her reason was if she lent her voice and sang the track, the viewers might not solely focus on the drama,

She wanted her role as Young Ro to be known as a character in the series only and not as the one who sang the soundtrack. Fortunately, the show's directors respected her opinion and Kim Hee Won sang "Friend."

Meanwhile, "Snowdrop" has now come to an end in South Korea, but it's just about to release abroad via Disney+. Fans are about to see all of its 16 episodes starting on Wednesday, Feb. 9, per Elle.

Set in the 1980s, the story tells the forbidden romance of a college student and a North Korean spy in the backdrop of the country's pro-democracy movement. Despite the heavy criticisms the show has experienced, it still earns good ratings and a massive audience.

It even led to a petition that called for the show's cancellation. The call earned more than 267,000 signatories and they all pointed out the protestors were "killed and tortured" for being falsely accused as spies.

The petitioners claimed its plot distorted "the value of the pro-democracy movement." In addition, a group of Korean scholars wrote an open letter to Disney Asia-Pacific President Luke Kang to ask the company to seek help of Korean history experts to study the series' historical references.

Alternatively, JTBC responded to these issues, saying "Snowdrop" was a creative work that showed the personal stories of those who were "used and victimized" by the people in power. In a statement for Disney+, director Jo Hyun Tak said it is a heart-warming fictional drama about a young couple in love.

As their story unfolds, they will both experience an unbearable pain that only a few encounter. With that being said, he hopes the global viewers will find "Snowdrop" as a gripping and suspenseful tale as Young Ro (Jisoo) and Im Soo Ho's fate (Jung Hae In) intertwine and they face some difficulties together.
