Lee Yoo Mi is once again receiving a lot of attention after playing the role of Na Yeon in "All of Us Dead" after portraying Ji Yeong in "Squid Game." With the two successful Netflix series, it is no surprise that she has now earned millions of fans.

In fact, from 40,000 followers on Instagram in September 2021, it dramatically grows to 7.1 million today. The number is 175 folds of what she used to have and it may continuously grow in the coming days.

Many now recognized the 27-year-old star after doing two successful projects. She is now receiving heaps of praise for her incredible acting skills.

She effortlessly gained the viewers' sympathy when she played the role of Ji Yeong and was hated after that as Na Yeon. With that huge difference in her roles, AllKpop noted she had captured the audience's interest, becoming the character itself with the complete change.

For starters, Ji Yeong is a shy but cool-headed young girl who helps Sae Byeok (HoYeon Jung) join the dangerous game's next stage by sacrificing herself in "Squid Game." Alternatively, she is also Na Yeon, the selfish and self-conceited high school student who is willing to sacrifice others for her to survive in "All of Us Are Dead."

Her latest role drew so much hate, proving she has done an exceptional job as an actress. Many are even surprised by the sudden image change, not thinking Na Yeon and Ji Yeong are portrayed by the same actress.

So to defend her character, Lee Yoo Mi told Cosmopolitan Korea in an interview, as translated by Soompi, Na Yeon is just being faithful to the emotions she feels. Though everybody hates her, the 27-year-old actress loves her character.

She said if only fans would carefully watch why she did those things, they might understand why she acted that way. Yoo Chan Young, who plays the role of Cheong San, agrees with Lee Yoo Mi.

He added that though Na Yeon is annoying, she never says something not true. In real life, the actor believes people need someone like her.

Lee Yoo Mi continued to understand Na Yeon has no choice but to rush to survive. Many just misunderstand her desire to live because it has been expressed differently.

Whatever they say, she sees their comments positively as it reflects how skilled of an actress she is. "If she's really mean, that means I acted well, right," Lee Yoo Mi said.
