BTS's Jimin assured his fans he was doing fine after undergoing surgery and testing positive for COVID-19. Also known as Chim Chim, he made an update on WeVerse to calm his worrying followers.

Big Hit Music released a statement about Jimin's health condition on Jan. 31. At the time, the label revealed he had acute appendicitis, in addition to his COVID-19, after feeling sudden abdominal pain with a mildly sore throat on Jan. 29.

After being taken to the emergency hospital, receiving a PCR test and being diagnosed, the 26-year-old star underwent surgery on Jan. 31. After that, his agency revealed he was already resting and recovering well after a successful appendicitis operation.

However, it looked like the company's announcement didn't help to ease the fans' worry, AllKpop noted. So, Jimin himself made an update on WeVerse to assure fans he was doing okay.

"Everyone, you must have worried a lot, right?" he started his message with a question. He said he was recovering well and apologized to his followers for worrying them.

He, then, dropped the good news, saying he believed he could be discharged soon. He is now eating well, devouring three meals a day.

Jimin asked his fans to wait a little more for his return after his recovery. After seeing the singer-dancer's update, fans felt relieved and started to leave thousands of comments on his post.

They also showed their support for the K-pop idol, asking him to return to his fans safely. "I'm so relieved he is alright," one said. Others asked him to get well soon, don't be sick anymore and be healthy.

Meanwhile, after Jimin's diagnosis, he is said to receive a few days of "inpatient treatment for COVID-19 in conjunction with post-operative care," Big Hit Music also revealed, per Rolling Stone. He is now recuperating and the doctors are expecting him to make a quick recovery.

He will, reportedly, stay in the hospital for several days as he continues to feel a mild sore throat. The label later cleared he hasn't been in contact with other BTS members, V, Jungkook, Suga, Jin, RM and J-Hope, while being infected by the contagious virus.

In December, RM, Jin and Suga tested positive for coronavirus and quickly recovered. Also, the group members are on their extended vacation for the first time since 2019 to have some personal time for themselves and their families.
