Lee Yoo Mi is now gaining incredible attention after the global success of her two consecutive Netflix shows, "Squid Game" and "All of Us Are Dead." But before she has reached this success, the rising star credits BTS for her newfound confidence.

Long before Lee Yoo Mi felt confident, she used to doubt herself because of the way she looked. Thankfully, she learned of BTS and made them her inspiration.

In an unearthed interview with Newsis in 2019, via Koreaboo, she admitted to having image issues. She once struggled with her appearance, specifically her nose, before she debuted.

She found her nose ugly at the time that she thought of undergoing plastic surgery with her mom. So as time passed by, the 27-year-old star eventually learned to fully accept herself and love her looks, thanks to BTS.

"Now, I love my face more than anyone," she said. She even believed it now has a lot of charm.

The K-pop group's "Love Yourself" album helped the K-drama star overcome her self-image problems. The LP carried the message for people to love and accept themselves the way ther are.

This gave the Miu Miu model the push and reminder she needed to love herself no matter what she looked like. To prove that she was already fine with her appearance, she even made fun of her nose.

The "Young Adult Matters" star said if she had gone through with the nose job, she wouldn't have become as successful as she is today. "If my face remained the same, but my nose was higher, I don't think I would have become successful," she concluded.

Lee Yoo Mi has been in the entertainment for the past 12 years. She debuted in 2010 in the thriller movie "The Yellow Sea."

Since then, she has only done minor supporting roles. But it wasn't until "Squid Game" was released that she experienced the global recognition she deserved.

Add to that her role in "All of Us Are Dead" as Na-Yeon; many started to love and hate her. However, with her newfound fame, she told Cosmopolitan Korea, as translated by Soompi, she believed her acting was effective with the hatred she had received.

Lee Yoo Mi also defended her character as a high-schooler with a bad attitude, saying Na-Yeon was only being faithful to her emotions. There were some aspects in her actions that fans might understand if they dwelled on it again.
