Did Bradley Cooper experience a midlife crisis amid the pandemic? A source believes so after revealing he almost quit acting.

Speaking to Life & Style, the unnamed informant claimed that the actor was "at a crossroads" before receiving an offer from Paul Thomas Anderson. The filmmaker asked him to play the role of Jon Peters for his 2021 material, "Licorice Pizza."

Cooper is reportedly "so glad he did not give up." As added, he is "enjoying his career again" in Hollywood.

It is unclear whether Bradley Cooper did go through a midlife crisis in 2020. The insider did not provide any proof to support the assertions.

But, there is truth to the story that the "Avengers: End Game" voice actor nearly quit his career in acting. He himself revealed the matter in an interview for "Variety's Actors on Actors" earlier in January.

Cooper shared that Paul Thomas Anderson is the reason he did not give up, according to Us Weekly. He explained that when the director of "Licorice Pizza" called him to "maybe be in his movie," he thought it would "open up a door" for him and that he would do anything to be in the material.

The "A Star Is Born" star continued that there was "no way" he would not do the project with Anderson, adding that he spent nearly a month with the filmmaker. He stated that he watched "all the camera tests," while the "incredible" director taught him all about "things [he] never knew."

Prior to working on "Licorice Pizza," Bradley Cooper was doing "Nightmare Alley" with Guillermo del Toro. In the same interview he had with Variety, the actor noted that the film was an "interesting example of how insecure" he is as an actor, according to People.

He revealed that it was "surprising" for him because del Toro offered him the lead role after Leonardo DiCaprio reportedly exited the project. He added that "it was insecurity and ego" for him to accept it because he had "never been allowed into that group."

In the end, though, the "Hangover" star pointed out that the project "wound up being an incredible experience." He, also, emphasized that it was "very interesting" to play the character of Stanton Carlisle.

Meanwhile, Bradley Cooper is said to be gearing up for a new film under the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He will reportedly reprise his voice role as Rocket Racoon for "Thor: Love and Thunder" and "Guardians of the Galaxy 3."
