This year serves as Girls' Generation's 15th anniversary, so will a comeback soon happen? By the looks of it, the answer is yes after Taeyeon hints at its possibility.
Taeyeon held a Mecima Fansign event where she talked to a few lucky fans in a one-on-one video call. As expected, fans could not help but ask about the possible Girls Generation reunion and she came out positive of it.
The video of the group's main vocals is now circulating on different social media outlets and communities. It showed a fan asking about the group's 15th anniversary and if their followers would finally see their return this year.
The 33-year-old singer nodded and said it was maybe possible. The fan could not contain herself and yelled in excitement.
"Really??!" the fan asked in disbelief. Taeyeon once again said it was possible, to which the fan said she would look forward to it.
"Yes, please look forward to it a lot," the "INVU" hitmaker added. AllKpop noted that international fans started to share it on their social media pages for other fans to see as soon as the clip was released. Korean fans also shared the good news on a popular online community.
Meanwhile, this is not the first time a Girls' Generation member teased the possibility of the girls' reunion and comeback. When Taeyeon, Sunny, Tiffany, Hyoyeon, Yuri, Sooyoung, Yoona and Seohyun reunited in a special episode of tvN's "You Quiz on the Block" last year, the girls talked about everything under the sun, especially their possible comeback, per Soompi.
The eight admitted they usually hang out in real life but revealed it was not easy to get everyone together for a show. Thankfully, Sooyoung and Tiffany took the lead to encourage everyone to agree to a guest appearance altogether.
So after talking about their past activities and the age gap with younger idols, the host Jo Se Ho asked about the possible Girls' Generation's comeback as a full group. YoonA said they always said they were open to it.
Fellow host Yoo Jae Suk added that since it would be the girls' 15th anniversary this year, it might be the perfect time to "do something together." Sunny agreed and said they had to do it "now" after the 49-year-old comedian said so.
So, will Taeyeon, Sunny, Tiffany, Hyoyeon, Yuri, Sooyoung, Yoona and Seohyun soon bless fans with Girls' Generation comeback? Many hope so.
