T.O.P has updated his profile after YG Entertainment confirmed the official comeback of Big Bang. The original Kings of K-Pop are about to make their much-awaited return next month and fans are now counting the days before their new song's release.
T.O.P renews his profile's information and changes his profile photo on a portal site. However, the rest of the Big Bang members, G-Dragon, Taeyang and Daesung, are yet to update their profile pictures and details.
AllKpop noted the 34-year-old star had already removed YG as his agency after revealing his decision not to renew his contract with the label. In an interview with the Hong Kong-based magazine, Prestige, he announced his plans to release a solo album in the future.
He also shared that he used to have depression since he was young but managed to overcome it through art. He also wanted to message his fans and share why he decided to take a break from Big Bang.
Meanwhile, fans will finally hear the new music from T.O.P, G-Dragon, Taeyang and Daesung in a few days. In fact, YG revealed the first teaser for the upcoming release.
The poster features a black polaroid against a white background with a text revealing a midnight release on April 5. However, it didn't give any further details about this new project, so it remains to be seen if it would be a digital single or an album.
For first starters, YG first announced Big Bang's comeback plans in February, along with T.O.P's exit from the agency, per Rappler. Despite that, though, he would still be a group member.
In an official statement, the label said they respected his decision to expand his activities as an individual aside from being a Big Bang member. It also confirmed they all had a great conclusion regarding this new setup with other members.
So, T.O.P will continue to join Big Bang's activities when the situation allows him. This will be the first time the group will drop a new song after four years following the release of "Flower Road" in 2018.
Since then, a lot has happened to K-pop idols. The quarter finished their mandatory military service, while Seungri left the group and retired from the business after getting involved in a huge Burning Sun scandal.
Big Bang was originally a five-member group when they debuted in August 2006. They dropped some of the biggest K-Pop hits, like "BANG BANG BANG," "Fantastic Baby" and "Loser." Before they took a hiatus, their last album came in 2016, titled "MADE."
