BTS made another history as they won three major awards at the 2022 Billboard Music Awards. The event announced the winners on Sunday, May 15, a few hours before the awards show.

BTS won the Top Duo/Group, Top Song Sales Artist and Top Selling Song with their hit track, "Butter." With this feat, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V and Jungkook are now in line with One Direction and break Destiny's Child record.

The group was nominated in six different categories. Aside from the three mentioned nominations they won, they were also nominated for Top Billboard Global Artist (excluding the U.S.), Top Billboard Global Song (excluding the U.S.) and Top Rock Song.

Their recent winning marks the third time the K-pop idols won the Top Duo/Group award. With that said, AllKpop noted they now hold the same record One Direction held for the most wins in the same category.

It is also the sixth consecutive year BTS has won at the BBMA since their first nomination in 2017. Soompi added they have already overtaken Destiny's Child for becoming the group to win the most BBMA in history.

They currently hold 12 Billboard Music Award wins, breaking Destiny's Child's 11-win record that they had for 17 years. This win comes as the global phenomenon is about to drop its new album.

In April, BTS announced the coming of their new album. Of course, many got really excited about it.

Rolling Stone reported the project would be titled "Proof" and feature three separate CDs. The first CD will be composed of 19 songs, including the hit tracks "Butter," "DNA" and "Fake Love."

The second one will feature only some group members, while the third CD will out the unreleased music and demo versions of their most-loved songs. Meanwhile, in an interview with E! News' Laverne Cox at the 2022 Grammy Awards, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V and Jungkook revealed who they wanted to collaborate with someday.

Suga wanted to sing with Lady Gaga, while J-Hope chose J. Balvin. RM wished to work with Snoop Dogg and V picked Olivia Rodrigo.

Sadly, these are yet to come to fruition, but who knows? It may happen someday.

With BTS's fame and success, collaborating with some of the great artists in the industry is not far from happening. All fans have to do is wait for this to happen.
