Suzy will soon return to the small screens. South Korea's sweetheart has reportedly started working on her new Netflix original drama series, "The Girl Downstairs," opposite Yang Se Jong.

After the end of Coupang Play's "Anna," it will take no time before fans see Suzy acting again. So, are fans now excited for her return?

AllKpop noted that on Friday, July 29, several media outlets revealed the former Miss A member had started filming her new drama series. The show in question is based on the hit webtoon series with the same name, illustrated and written by Songah Min.

It tells the story of a stunning idol who decides to leave the entertainment business and an ordinary college student. By some twist of fate, these two will end up living together in shared housing.

Suzy will play the role of the female lead Lee Doo Na, the main vocalist of the fictional girl group Dream Sweet. Despite the young age, she would decide to have an early retirement.

Aside from being a lead singer, she's also a student at Minsong University and is part of the Department of Theater and Film. Fans will see her as an unpredictable character with an incredible look and unique aura.

On the other hand, her on-screen partner, Yang Se Jong, will be seen as Lee Won Joon. Meanwhile, knowing the webtoon has a number of readers, there are already high expectations surrounding the TV adaptation of "The Girl Downstairs."

This will be the first project of Yang Se Jong after his return from his mandatory military service. It will also serve as Suzy's newest TV series after "Anna."

In March, news emerged that she would take the lead role in a new Netflix series. Her agency, Management SOOP, responded to the report, confirming its talent indeed received the offer to do the show, per Soompi.

However, at the time, she was still reviewing the deal. After a month, Xportsnews revealed Yang Se Jong was offered to play opposite Suzy in "The Girl Downstairs." His agency, Blossom Entertainment, confirmed the claims and announced he was positively reviewing the offer.

"The Girl Downstairs" will be directed by Lee Jung Hyo, who's behind other successful K-dramas, like "Crash Landing on You," "Life on Mars" and "Romance is a Bonus Book." There are no words yet when "The Girl Downstairs" will be out, but fans hope to see it soon.
