Update: Actress Anne Heche's representative has confirmed that she is in stable condition after a car she was driving crashed into a residence in Los Angeles, according to ABC News.
"Anne is currently in stable condition. Her family and friends ask for your thoughts and prayers and to respect her privacy during this difficult time." The representative told ABC News.
Meanwhile, a source told CNN the actress has a long recovery ahead, "Anne is in the ICU, she's lucky to be alive. She has severe burns and has a long recovery ahead. Her team and her family are still trying to process what led up to the crash."
Actress Anne Heche got into a car accident and was sent to hospital in critical condition on Friday, according to Fox 11 Los Angeles.
Reports claimed that the car, a 2020 blue Mini Cooper, is registered to an "Anne Heche," although no confirmations have yet to emerge. People also noted that it has yet to verify whether the "Donnie Brasco" actress was, indeed, driving the vehicle.
The 53-year-old celebrity was allegedly inside the car that crashed into a nearby home in the neighborhood of Mar Vista.
Speaking to the magazine, the Los Angeles Fire Department revealed that the accident resulted in the "structural compromise" and "heavy fire" on the one-story residential property. It also added that the female driver of the vehicle has been hospitalized "in critical condition" following the fiery car crash.
When asked for an official statement, a rep for Anne Heche told the publication, "We don't have enough information to comment."
TMZ was the first to report the accident earlier on Friday.
It learned from witnesses that the "Volcano" star first crashed into the garage of an apartment complex. But, when residents tried to get her out of the vehicle, she allegedly put the car "in reverse and then sped off."
A few minutes later, Heche reportedly crashed into a nearby home, causing a fire. The outlet consequently noted that "the fire was significant and engulfed the house."
The publication included a few photos and clips from the accident in its report. In citing the materials, it stated that the Emmy winner's clothes can be seen "charred as she's taken away on a stretcher."
One of the videos also reportedly shows Anne Heche "covered in a white cloth, when she suddenly sits up on the stretcher and starts flailing wildly as they put her in the ambulance."
The same outlet later pointed out that the extent of the actress's injuries or burns remains unknown. But, it reportedly learned that she is "intubated but expected to live."
CNN, meanwhile, seemingly obtained similar information regarding the accident.
Los Angeles Police Public Information Officer Jeff Lee spoke to the publication and shared that the driver, who is believed to be Anne Heche, was speeding at a "high rate" when she ran off the road and crashed into a residence.
It is also said that the driver "suffered burn injuries" as the impact of the collision left the car engulfed in flames. As added, the Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics took her to a local hospital, noting that she is "in critical condition."
