Lucky fans had the chance to see "My Hero Academia" Season 6 Episode 1 in Japan at the recent Hero Fes 2022. Intriguingly, the premiere episode gets a lot of praise and some say it even addresses an often major complaint.
Viewers are already talking about what they saw online. Though many fan accounts are in Japanese, several recaps are in English, thanks to some Twitter users. So, what does "My Hero Academia" Season 6 Episode 1 reval?
The online threads revealed, via Comicbook, that the premiere episode immediately begins from the start. Compared to its predecessors, which first episodes often featured a major recap, the sixth season differed.
It finally addressed the complaints about the filler recap, starting the show with a new story and diving into "canon content from the get-go."
Fans immediately saw Deku, Mirko and even Shigaraki's doctor, who made things more complicated. Animation-wise, they seemed left in awe and had nothing to say.
Twitter user xprathamx had no words, only praising "My Hero Academia" Season 6 Episode 1, saying it was a "huge step" from the fifth season and felt "more polished and clean."
It was the same thing others said after seeing the event in person. Hero Fes showed the premiere episode to in-person attendees, so only a lucky few had the chance to watch.
So as the first episode's pacing and animation seemed promising, it looks like the sixth season will have a strong start when it finally hits the small screen this fall. As it will be out at the same time when some of the much-awaited anime series will be released, too, like "Chainsaw Man" and "Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War," it has to give its best to keep up.
Anime News Network added that the new season would adapt the Paranormal Liberation War arc of Kohei Horikoshi's original manga. This time, fans are about to see an all-out war between the heroes and the villains.
The anime's first season premiered in April 2016 with 13 episodes, followed by the 25-episode second season in April 2017. The third season was then out in April 2018, also with 25 episodes, while the fourth season dropped in October 2019 with the same number of episodes.
The fifth season was then released in March 2021 with another set of 25 episodes. Funimation and Crunchyroll streamed the anime series. Finally, the long wait will be soon over as "My Hero Academia" Season 6 Episode 1 will finally be out on October 1.
