"Extraordinary Attorney Woo" Season 2 is coming after ASTORY's Lee Sang Baek, the production company behind the hit ENA K-drama series, confirmed the show's renewal. That said, what would happen in the second season?
The Park Eun Bin-led show has taken the world by storm with its different kind of storyline, featuring an attorney with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). However, rumors have it that "Extraordinary Attorney Woo" Season 2 will have a different lead.
KDrama Stars revealed the speculations that Kang Ki Young, who plays the role of Jung Myeong Seok in the first season, will headline the forthcoming second season. Allegedly, Park Eun Bin and Kang Tae Oh may not have the chance to lead the series once again as Woo Young Woo and Lee Jun Ho due to conflicting schedules.
The production staff may find it hard to gather the original cast together because of their un-matching schedules. After the first season ends, the two main stars will have their respective endeavors.
Park Eun Bin reportedly confirmed her appearance in a new project. Alternatively, Kang Tae Oh is preparing for his military enlistment.
Hence, Kang Ki Young may take the lead in "Extraordinary Attorney Woo" Season 2. Well, this one is not far from happening.
It can't be denied that the actor has shown great acting skills as a senior lawyer and mentor to the rookie lawyers. He also has several acting credits to his name, like "Oh My Ghost," "Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo" and "What's Wrong with Secretary Kim?" to name a few, proving his talents.
If this happens, the second season may play out Jung Myeong Seok's past and a new love interest after battling cancer, per AllKpop. Anyhow, fans only have to take this assumption with a grain of salt as nothing is confirmed yet about the "Extraordinary Attorney Woo" Season 2 storyline.
Meanwhile, President Lee thanked everyone for supporting the series that led to the show's renewal. They hoped to air the second season sometime in 2024, explaining that the process of adjusting to the stars and crew's schedules would be a big challenge for them.
Despite that, they planned to do "Extraordinary Attorney Woo" Season 2 without changing its cast members or production staff. However, it will introduce various IPs related to the drama, including a webtoon that launched earlier this month and its upcoming musical version.
The first season of "Extraordinary Attorney" Woo will end with Episodes 15 and 16, which will be out on Wednesday, August 17, and Thursday, August 18, on ENA and Netflix. After that, fans will be waiting for the coming of "Extraordinary Attorney Woo" Season 2.
