Just as fans shipped Johnny Depp and his lawyer Camille Vasquez during his defamation case against ex-wife Amber Heard, the actor was already dating one of his attorneys, Joelle Rich. Rich represented the "Pirates of the Caribbean" star in his U.K. libel case against The Sun two years ago.

It might be why Vasquez denied anything romantic happening between her and Depp despite their incredible chemistry on cam. So, who is Rich, and what do fans need to know about her?

Joelle Rich's Successful Law Career

As one of Depp's representatives, Rich has a very successful law career and is a partner at her London-based law firm, Schillings, Page Six noted.

Her company profile noted that she's an expert in libel and privacy and copyright disputes. She was part of a team that won a major privacy and copyright case and led a high-profile libel claim.

As a highly-experienced litigator, Rich aims to use the law to make sure her clients will be "protected from arbitrary interference into their personal or business lives."

Aside from Depp, her other high-profile client is Meghan Markle, representing her case against The Mail on Sunday.

Joelle Rich's Academic Profile

Rich attended North London Collegiate School for her secondary school and received her higher education in the U.K. She studied law at the University of Birmingham.

She furthered her studies at BPP Law School, specializing in Media and Entertainment, Intellectual Property, and Commercial and Private Acquisitions, as noted on her LinkedIn page.

Joelle Rich as a Very Private Person

Despite handling the most public cases, Rich loves her privacy. Her Instagram account is set to private, and she has only accepted about 200 followers.

However, she looks active on social media, seeing she has more than 1,000 posts.

Joelle Rich's Status

UsWeekly claimed Rich is married but is already separated after meeting Depp during his trial.

An insider revealed she's now getting a divorce from her unnamed husband, with whom she reportedly shares two kids.

Joelle Rich, Johnny Depp Romance

Depp and Rich might have already been in a romantic relationship when the former was holding her defamation trial against Heard in the U.S.

At the time, she was there in the courtroom, showing her support. At one point, she was even seen hugging Vasquez.

To be clear, Rich wasn't part of Depp's legal team in the U.S. but was a member of his U.K. counsel. Though she wasn't professionally involved in the Heard case, a source said her presence was "personal."
