Former U.S. President Donald Trump's social media program Truth Social has been given the thumbs-up by Google, a subsidiary of Alphabet Inc.

"Apps may be distributed on Google Play provided they comply with our developer guidelines, including the requirement to effectively moderate user-generated content and remove objectionable posts such as those that incite violence," a Google spokesperson said.

Since the beginning of July, Trump Media and Technology Group has been collaborating with Google to join the Play Store. Last week, TMTG and Google both confirmed that their interactions had been productive.

"It's been a pleasure to work with Google, and we're glad they helped us to finally bring Truth Social to all Americans, regardless of what device they use," TMTG's Chief Executive Officer Devin Nunes said.

According to a Google representative in August, the Play Store has not previously offered Truth Social because of insufficient content control. Truth Social made its American debut in the Apple App Store in February. Google has voiced concerns to Truth Social regarding infringements of its Play Store regulations, which forbid materials that encourage violence and make physical threats.

The primary resource for Android app downloads in the US is Google's Play Store. Android users can download programs straight from websites or through competing app stores, though the latter frequently requires additional procedures and security approvals. Even after Google barred Truth Social from the Play Store, it was still accessible through those channels.

After being suspended from Twitter Inc., Facebook Inc., and Alphabet Inc.'s YouTube following the Jan. 6, 2021, U.S. Capitol riots on the basis of allegations that he had posted messages encouraging violence, Truth Social reinstated Trump's social media presence more than a year later.

TMTG has promised to provide an "engaging and censorship-free experience" on Truth Social in an effort to win over an audience that believes its opinions on contentious issues like the results of the 2020 presidential election have been erased from popular internet platforms.

Truth Social was recently introduced to Samsung's Galaxy app store. In late September, TMTG started the submission procedure to join the Samsung Galaxy Store. From the date of the initial submission, until the platform was made accessible to users, it took less than two weeks. Trump's social networking app has been accessible in the Apple App Store since Feb. 21.

TMTG debuted in October of last year. The business said last month that the partner has contracts for institutional investors to provide $1 billion in funding. The company intends to merge with the publicly traded Digital World Acquisition Corp., a special-purpose acquisition company whose only goal is to buy a private company and take it public, in order to go public.
