Kang Ki Young, Jin Sun Kyu, and Jo Byeong Gyu are reportedly in talks to star in the upcoming "The Uncanny Counter" Season 2. Little details about the new season of the devil hunters are now emerging, and it looks like it will feature some of the most favorite K-actors in the industry.
The coming of "The Uncanny Counter" Season 2 has been confirmed, and people behind the show are now busy working on its cast members. So, aside from the possible return of the original characters, will fans see new faces, too?
The show's second season will now have a new network. From OCN, it will have a new home on tvN.
According to reports, Jo Byeong Gyu's agency, HB Entertainment, is now reviewing the offer to reprise his role in the series as So Moon. By the looks of it, there will be a positive outcome.
Alternatively, Kang Ki Young and Jin Sun Kyu's agencies, Namoo Actors and L'July Entertainment, are also reviewing the offer. These two will play new roles in "The Uncanny Counter" Season 2.
Fans will reportedly see a different Kang Ki Young, famously known for his role in the hit K-drama "Extraordinary Attorney Woo," in the second outing of the mystery series. Rumors have it that it will be the opposite of his kind character in the legal drama.
So, does it mean he will be the second season's antagonist? In addition, there are reports that Kim Seo Jeong will return to the second season as Do Ha Na.
There are claims that she, too, receives an offer to reprise her role in "The Uncanny Counter" Season 2. Just like Jo Byeong Gyu, her agency, Jellyfish Entertainment, is "positively reviewing" the deal.
So, what will happen in the second season? It will continue the story of the counters who are facing evil spirits. This time, they will be working with international counters from all over the world to fight against a new enemy.
"The Uncanny Counter" is based on the webtoon of the same name about the demon hunters called "counters." They disguise themselves as regular employees of a noodle restaurant.
But beyond this image, they hunt down demons who have come to Earth in search of eternal life. The show's first season was a big, making history after successfully attaining the highest ratings in OCN history in 2020.
So, "The Uncanny Counter" Season 2 has a huge shoe to fill. There are no words yet for when the second season will be out.
