Ardern was recently announced as a new member of the Board of Trustees for the esteemed Earthshot Prize project, an initiative established by the Prince and Princess of Wales.
Burrell, who served Princess Diana for over a decade, contends that Ardern's decision was influenced by her reluctance to associate with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. Speaking with GB News, Burrell explained, "Jacinda has seen that Harry and Meghan's world is becoming toxic and they are only celebrities. They are not ambassadors for the world and William and Kate are."
He went on to emphasize the stark contrast between the two royal couples, praising William and Kate's tireless efforts on behalf of the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth. Burrell accused the Sussexes of primarily seeking fame and wealth, suggesting that Ardern made the right choice by focusing on the "long game."
