Tom Parker Bowles, son of Queen Consort Camilla, has stated that his mother married King Charles III for love, not any ulterior motive. During a discussion about the upcoming coronation on the Apple News podcast "The News Agents," Bowles commented on his mother's marriage and her new title.

When asked if it was strange to call his mother "Queen," Bowles responded, "Not really, because she's still our mother." Bowles and his sister Laura Lopes are Camilla's children from her previous marriage to Andrew Parker Bowles.

Reiterating his mother's intentions, Bowles explained, "She's our mother. Change happens but I don't care what anyone says - this wasn't any sort of end game. She married the person she loved, and this is what happened."

Discussing Camilla's possible anxiety ahead of the coronation, Bowles admitted, "I think anyone would be anxious on an occasion of this sort of importance in terms of the historical. And yes, I think I'd be terrified if I had to sort of walk out wearing ancient robes...She's 75, but you know, it's tough to do it. But she's never complained. You just do it, get on with it."

Bowles commended King Charles III and Queen Consort Camilla for their performance, describing the monarch as "a good, kind, intelligent man who cares deeply about his roles wherever they may be, Prince of Wales, the King." He also expressed disapproval at the prospect of being called a duke following his mother's coronation.

Queen Consort Camilla will be formally crowned Queen alongside King Charles III at Westminster Abbey on May 6. Her grandsons, Master Gus and Master Louis Lopes, and Master Freddy Parker Bowles, will serve as her Pages of Honour, along with her great-nephew Master Arthur Elliot.

Bowles admitted that his son Freddy may not yet grasp the magnitude of the event, saying, "He's a 13-year-old boy who loves football. We're just there to support our mother. I'm no expert on this."

For King Charles III, his eldest grandson Prince George will serve as a Page of Honour, along with Lord Oliver Cholmondeley, Master Nicholas Barclay, and Master Ralph Tollemache. Royal author Hugo Vickers praised the inclusion of family members in these roles, calling it "a lovely idea" that promotes inclusivity and strengthens family bonds.

Bowles' assertion that his mother had no "end game" in marrying King Charles III contradicts Prince Harry's claims about his stepmother. In his memoir "Spare," Prince Harry accused Camilla of marrying into the royal family with the goal of becoming Queen. While Prince Harry will attend the coronation, his current feelings about Camilla assuming the title of Queen remain unknown.
