Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York, recently commented on not being invited to the coronation of King Charles III and Queen Consort Camilla on May 6. She acknowledged that the invitation's absence stems from her giving up the right to attend royal events when she divorced Prince Andrew.

During an interview on "Good Morning Britain," Fergie stated, "You can't have it both ways. You mustn't sit on the fence. You're either in or out, but don't muck around." She emphasized that she is not offended by the snub, as she enjoys her single life and burgeoning career as a novelist.

Ferguson clarified that her divorce allows her to focus on her new life as an author: "I am divorced, and I'm really loving being divorced to my ex-husband - not from my ex-husband, it's quite a differentiate - and also getting out there as a new novelist."

Despite not being invited to the coronation, the Duchess of York maintains a close relationship with King Charles III and Queen Consort Camilla. She insisted that not being present at the state occasion does not prevent her from privately celebrating it: "In private I can be there, and that's a lovely feeling to be part of the family. It really is." She also praised the King and Queen for their exceptional efforts to unify the family.

During an earlier interview on "Loose Women," Ferguson mentioned her plans to celebrate the coronation by herself. She expressed her enthusiasm for watching the event on television and appreciating the commentators' work.

The Duchess of York will reunite with the royal family the day after the coronation, as she has been offered a VIP attendance at King Charles III's Coronation Concert on May 7. The event, held on the grounds of Windsor Castle, will feature performances by American Idol judges Katy Perry and Lionel Richie.

An unnamed source cited by Sky News claimed that Fergie "never would have expected" to be invited to the coronation but is "delighted" to join the family at the concert. They added that she "cherishes those more relaxed times with the family and, contrary to some reports, is fully accepting of the situation."

Prince Andrew, Fergie's ex-husband, is expected to attend the coronation, given that King Charles III is his older brother. However, his specific role in the ceremony remains uncertain. Meanwhile, the Duchess of York has been busy promoting her new book, "A Most Intriguing Lady," in the U.K. and abroad.
