Meghan Markle is reportedly unhappy with the Royal Family's response to her racism concerns following her and Prince Harry's explosive interview with Oprah Winfrey. In the interview, the couple disclosed that a senior royal had questioned the skin color of their unborn son, sending shockwaves through the British monarchy.

The Duchess of Sussex is believed to have sent official correspondence to the Royal Family after the interview, with the King being the only senior member to make contact with Meghan. While Meghan thanked him for his response, a source claimed that she did not feel it adequately addressed her concerns, possibly influencing her decision not to attend the Coronation.

According to the source, the letters sent by Meghan clearly indicate the identity of the senior family member who made the comment. Both the King and Meghan reportedly agreed that the remark was not made with malicious intent.

The Telegraph reports that Meghan's dissatisfaction with the response played a role in her decision to skip the Coronation on May 6. Instead, she will stay with their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, as Archie's fourth birthday coincides with the Coronation.

An insider told The Mirror that the King is "delighted" that Prince Harry will travel to the UK for the event, adding that the Duke of Sussex "would have deeply regretted" missing it.

However, royal commentator Daniela Elser wrote in news.com.au that Meghan's absence from the Coronation could have serious repercussions and makes her feelings about the Royal Family "obvious."

Elser said, "In making the choice to not go and to not show her support for her father-in-law, to not be there for one of the biggest moments for the monarchy in the better part of a century, she is making her position in regards to the institution pretty damn obvious."

She added, "Meghan seems to be taking an abundantly crystal clear stance on what sort of relationship she wants to have with her husband's family, i.e., pretty much none."
