Lionel Messi's recent arrival in Barcelona with his family and a whopping fifteen suitcases has fans buzzing with excitement, as speculation mounts about his potential return to Football Club Barcelona.

Although club officials have not confirmed Messi's comeback, they have been open about their efforts to bring the Argentine legend back to the team. The recent trip to Barcelona with his wife, Antonela Roccuzzo, and their children has only fueled these rumors.

Gerard Romero, a Spanish journalist, revealed on his Twitch channel that Messi and his family landed at Barcelona's El Prat Airport on Saturday, just hours after his participation in PSG's 2-1 victory against Angers in Ligue 1. While the Messi family often travels to Barcelona, where they maintain their primary residence, the sheer number of bags they brought this time has sparked curiosity.

Upon their arrival, Messi's bodyguard Pepe Costa greeted them, and the family was escorted to their mansion in the upscale suburb of Castelldefels.

Fans are left wondering if this visit hints at a more permanent move in the summer, especially considering Messi's contract with PSG expires at the end of June. Interestingly, Ligue 1 has not shown much interest in extending the Argentine's contract, while Barcelona president Joan Laporta has repeatedly expressed the club's desire to welcome Messi back.

Despite financial constraints, Barcelona is reportedly exploring ways to compensate Messi through gate receipts and merchandise sales if they cannot provide a substantial salary.

However, it is also possible that Messi is simply visiting to celebrate Saint Jordi's day, a major holiday in Barcelona. His long history with the city could be reason enough for a brief family vacation.

Journalist Adrian Sanchez, in his YouTube channel "Mas que pelotas," shared exclusive information about Messi's plans, claiming that while he cannot confirm a re-signing with FC Barcelona, Messi has already reserved spots for his children at their former school in the city.

Sanchez said, "A while ago I had a very important conversation and, after checking with various sources, we can tell you that Messi's family has asked for a reservation for a place for his children at the school where they have gone all their lives and have all their friends." He further noted that the enrollment reservations "make it clear" that Messi is planning a move back to the city.

Additionally, Sanchez revealed that Messi's children have not enrolled for the upcoming school year at their current French school, suggesting, "For me, this is an absolute bombshell and makes it clear where he is going. Messi's head is in Barcelona."
