A deadly shooting in southeast Texas has left five people dead, including an 8-year-old, after an alleged drunk man opened fire with an AR-15 style rifle, according to authorities. The incident took place late Friday night when the San Jacinto County Sheriff's Office received a call about a harassment situation in Cleveland, Texas, as reported by ABC News.

Upon arrival, authorities discovered four victims who had been fatally shot. A fifth victim later succumbed to their injuries at a local hospital. Three additional people were injured during the incident. KHOU-11 reported that there were ten people inside the home at the time of the shooting.

Victims of the attack ranged in age from 8 to 40 years old, and all were from Honduras. According to officials, the 8-year-old and two female victims were found in a bedroom, lying on top of two children who survived the ordeal.

The suspect, described as a Mexican male armed with an AR-15-style rifle, is believed to have been intoxicated at the time of the shooting. The San Jacinto County Sheriff's Office stated, "The Mexican male subject, he has been known to shoot his 223 out in his front yard, which is evident by the shell casings that are laying in the front yard."

As the investigation continues, residents in the Cleveland, Texas area have been advised by police to stay indoors and avoid the crime scene.
