Body language expert Judi James has shed light on Meghan Markle's attempt to maintain harmony among the former 'fab four', Prince Harry, Prince William, Kate Middleton, and herself, during a past public appearance, according to the Mirror.
The event in question was the 2018 Make a Difference Together forum in London, marking Meghan's debut representation of the Royal Foundation established by Prince Harry and Prince William in 2011.
In an exclusive interview with The Mirror, James highlighted the nuanced signs of underlying tension between the couples, present even during the early days of the 'fab four' collaboration. She observed, "With this launch of the 'fab four', the spontaneous outbreak of embarrassed body language suggests there are already clashes and conflicts behind the calm smiles."
James particularly pointed out Prince Harry's body language that indicated a potential issue between the two couples. In contrast, Meghan Markle appeared to make a conscious effort not to overshadow Prince William and Kate Middleton. "Meghan sits listening politely, smiling encouragement at the Cambridges and barely moving," James said, adding, "as an actress, she would understand the rules about not upstaging."
However, Meghan's composed demeanor seemed to shift when she was in the spotlight. "When the interview comes to Meghan, she goes off like a rocket of confidence and passion, but there are also a whole volley of cues concerning hair-touching that suggest self-awareness, coyness and even a desire to hide," James explained.
Interestingly, James also noted a particular gesture of Meghan's which could indicate her apprehension about a deeper rift between the brothers. When asked about disagreements among the 'fab four', Meghan was observed touching Harry's arm in what seemed like a restraining move and then shielding her face with one hand.
According to James, this behavior implied a serious concern on Meghan's part about the brothers' disagreements. "Meghan's reaction is totally different... It's as though she might have seen any disagreements between the brothers as something serious, to keep her feelings hidden about," Judi surmised, adding, "While the others giggle and smirk, Meghan seems to have sensed this is something more serious, despite the fact that she is also seen giggling."
