Jisoo, a member of the globally celebrated K-pop group Blackpink, recently revealed an unusual childhood dietary quirk: her taste for newspapers.

In a light-hearted exchange with Lee Youngji on her YouTube show, "Nothing Much Prepared," the 28-year-old K-pop icon opened up about her life and career. This conversation included an intriguing look into her early years, revealing her peculiar penchant for nibbling on newsprint.

During the chat, Jisoo and Lee sampled some Finnish gin, a selection from Lee, the champion of "Show Me The Money 11." The peculiar flavor of the gin reminded Lee of the sticker photos she would lick during her younger years. Jisoo concurred with the comparison, admitting to her own habit of tasting sticker photos as a child.

However, Jisoo didn't stop there. She confessed that she not only licked stickers but also ate paper. Out of all the types she had tasted, newspapers had a certain salty appeal.

"I had a fondness for licking the newspaper," shared Jisoo. "As a preschooler, I dabbled in origami and would taste the paper as I folded. However, it didn't taste good. So, I ventured to try newspaper at home, finding it to be slightly salty and rather tasty."

Prompted by Lee, Jisoo clarified that she didn't just suck on the newspaper but actually consumed it. This eccentric eating habit was eventually discarded. Jisoo also experimented with tissue paper but was unimpressed by its taste and its dissolving nature, unlike the newspapers she preferred.

In addition to her unique eating habit, Jisoo also divulged insights into her personality. She revealed that her Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) result, which identifies personality types, fluctuates based on circumstances, despite her generally introverted nature. At the time of the interview, she identified as "INTP," signifying introversion, intuition, thinking, and perceiving.

The Blackpink singer's appearance on "Nothing Much Prepared" marked a first for a YG Entertainment artist. The show, renowned for its casual chats over drinks with K-pop idols, boasts over 263 million combined YouTube views. It has hosted several notable personalities, including BTS' Jin, Aespa's Karina, Twice's Nayeon and Chaeyoung, and Seventeen's Hoshi, Joshua, and DK, among others.
