In a significant move, FC Barcelona has confirmed the acquisition of Brazilian forward Vitor Roque from Athletico Paranaense. The deal, worth approximately €40 million ($44m), is part of Barcelona's strategic plan to bolster its forward line.
Roque, a mere 18 years old, has demonstrated remarkable prowess on the field, making him one of the most sought-after young talents in the football world. His performance at Athletico and for Brazil's youth teams has not gone unnoticed, earning him his first senior cap for his country.
The young striker has an impressive record, having netted 22 goals in 65 appearances for Athletico, including six in his last six games. His performance has drawn comparisons to retired Brazilian strikers Ronaldo and Romario, although Barcelona's president Joan Laporta insists that Roque has a unique style.
