In the latest twist in the ongoing transfer saga of Kylian Mbappe, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) is reportedly planning to file a formal complaint with FIFA against Real Madrid. The French champions are convinced that Real Madrid has been negotiating with their star player behind their backs, a move that could potentially violate FIFA's regulations.

Mbappe, who has been linked with a move away from PSG throughout the summer, is now entitled to receive half of his loyalty bonus from the club, worth 40 million euros (£34.2 million). However, it remains unclear whether this sum has been paid, given the player's refusal to extend his contract until 2025.

PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi has made it clear that Mbappe must either extend his contract by another year or leave this summer. Real Madrid is known to be his preferred destination, but the Spanish giants have yet to make a formal offer. Instead, Saudi Arabian side Al-Hilal has proposed a package worth a total of $1.1 billion (£857.6 million). Despite PSG's interest in this offer, Mbappe has declined to engage in discussions with Al-Hilal representatives.

PSG is reportedly anticipating a last-minute offer from Real Madrid at the end of the transfer window. The club suspects that Real Madrid's president, Florentino Perez, will make a lowball offer, forcing PSG to choose between accepting his bid or risking losing Mbappe on a free transfer next summer.

According to The Telegraph, PSG is convinced that Real Madrid has reached out to Mbappe without their permission and that an agreement has already been made for a free transfer in 2024. There are also reports that instead of paying PSG a transfer fee this year, Real Madrid has agreed to pay Mbappe a signing bonus worth 160 million euros (£136.9 million).

If these allegations are true, they would constitute a violation of FIFA's regulations, as Mbappe is not technically allowed to negotiate with other clubs until January. As such, PSG is calling for FIFA to intervene in the matter.

Despite the controversy, Mbappe has continued to express his desire to play for Real Madrid, even if it means spending the next season on the bench at PSG. His stance has endeared him to Real Madrid fans, who were disappointed when he signed a contract extension with PSG last summer.

In a surprising development, Real Madrid's rivals, FC Barcelona, have also reportedly expressed interest in signing Mbappe. Despite their financial difficulties, the Blaugrana have reportedly offered their own stars, including Ousmane Dembele, Raphinha, and Gavi, in a potential swap deal with PSG. However, it remains to be seen whether this proposal will gain any traction.
