It was truly everything that had set the world ablaze with passion: BLACKPINK. Their final performance, aptly titled "BORN PINK", was unparalleled from beginning to end. The tour, which met 1.8 million fans across 34 cities, finally concluded in Seoul.
On the 17th, BLACKPINK held their world tour 'BORN PINK FINALE IN SEOUL' at the Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul. This two-day concert marked the end of BLACKPINK's world tour journey. Not only the 35,000 fans present at the venue but also BLINKs (fandom name) worldwide witnessed BLACKPINK's shining moments through online streaming.
Starting from October of the previous year, including encore performances, BLACKPINK held a total of 64 shows in 34 cities worldwide over approximately 11 months, spanning North America, Europe, Asia, Oceania, and the Middle East. Adding the nearly 35,000 attendees from the sold-out Seoul encore concert, a staggering 1.8 million fans witnessed BLACKPINK's performances, making it the largest world tour ever by a girl group.
The Seoul encore concert was the culmination of the members' expertise, showcasing the best stages from their tour. The performance was overwhelming in scale, with a record number of dancers, re-arranged versions of some songs, and elements from their acclaimed Coachella performance, including the traditional Korean tile set.
Despite the vastness of the Gocheok Dome, the largest indoor concert venue in Korea, the emotional distance between the artists and the audience was bridged through high-quality production, including LED screens, lasers, lighting, special effects, and the members' expertise in engaging with the audience.
From the opening stage, 'Pink Venom', the atmosphere was electrifying. With over 20 dancers setting the stage, BLACKPINK members Jennie, Lisa, Jisoo, and Rosé elevated the mood with their passionate performance. The grand arrangement and spectacular fireworks made it feel like a grand finale.
But that was just the beginning. Following performances included hits like 'How You Like That', 'Pretty Savage', 'Kick It', 'Whistle', and they continued to electrify the audience, especially with their captivating chair performance. The optimized arrangements and live band added to the grandeur.
Each member's solo stage was equally impressive, showcasing BLACKPINK's individual strengths. Jennie transformed the venue into a cosmic space with 'Solo' and showcased a dreamy performance under the moonlight with 'YOU & ME'. Jisoo charmed with her captivating voice in 'All Eyes On ME' and 'Flower'.
Rosé began her performance seated at the center stage, deeply immersing the audience with 'Gone' and 'On The Ground'. Lisa, with her silhouette alone, drew screams from the audience and delivered a powerful performance with 'MONEY'.
One of BLACKPINK's strengths is that every song on their setlist is a mega-hit. They continued to elevate the atmosphere with global hits like 'Kill This Love', 'Lovesick Girls', 'Shut Down', 'DDU-DU DDU-DU', and concluded with an encore performance of 'BOOMBAYAH', 'Yeah Yeah Yeah', and 'As If It's Your Last'.
The members expressed their gratitude, with Jisoo saying, "It feels like just yesterday when Jennie cried during our first tour, but it's already been 4-5 years. The feeling of being one with BLINKs is still the same." Lisa added, "It's been 2,556 days since we met BLINKs. Thanks to you, we could perform at various grand venues. Thank you for making my 20s shine." Jennie promised, "Having celebrated our 7th debut anniversary, we'll always strive to be the best BLACKPINK for you."
