JYP Entertainment's rookie global group, VCHA, is set to make waves with the simultaneous global release of their pre-debut single 'SeVit (NEW LIGHT)' and title track "Y.O.Universe."

According to JYP on September 22, VCHA is the result of the 'A2K' (America2Korea) global girl group launch project, a collaboration between JYP and Republic Records. The group consists of six members: Lexi, KJ, Camila, Savana, Kaley, and Kendall, who were selected through the 'A2K' project.

Lexi, KJ, Camila, Savana, Kaley, and Kendall were chosen as the final members of VCHA through 'A2K', showcasing their skills in singing, dancing, star quality, and character. The group name, VCHA, encapsulates the team's identity, reflecting their desire to shine a light on fans and the world. The name was personally coined by Park Jin-young, who led the 'A2K' project.

The pre-debut single 'SeVit (NEW LIGHT)' releasing on the 22nd resonates with the meaning of 'a new light' and strongly aligns with the team's name. The track boasts contributions from JYP's lead producer, Park Jin-young, Grammy-winning producer of Sam Smith's 'Unholy', Cirkut, and BTS's 'Dynamite' producer, David Stewart, ensuring its high quality.

The new single features three tracks, including the title song 'Y.O.Universe', 'Go Getter', and 'Know Me Like That', all of which were showcased during the 'A2K' journey and now feature the voices of the six members. The title track 'Y.O.Universe', co-written by Park Jin-young and Cirkut, narrates the 'A2K' series and participants' stories, delivering an upbeat pop message that "we are all special because we are different." The two met in LA and, within a day, exchanged ideas on rhythm, chords, and effects, showcasing their incredible chemistry. The accompanying music video will also feature autobiographical stories of the six VCHA members and their aspirations as artists.

The massive project 'A2K', a collaboration between leading K-pop agency JYP and Billboard's top-ranked U.S. label, Republic Records, had its grand opening in July 2023 through JYP's official channel. This project, North America's first K-pop training system-based global girl group survival show, saw JYP's head, Park Jin-young, personally judge auditions in major U.S. cities like Atlanta, Chicago, New York, Dallas, and LA, followed by an LA boot camp and finally in Korea. The series, showcasing participants' sweat and effort towards their dreams and Park Jin-young's heartfelt evaluations, garnered immense global attention, with 'A2K' accumulating over 50 million views.

With JYP's track record of producing hit girl groups like Wonder Girls, Miss A, TWICE, ITZY, NiziU, and NMIXX, all eyes are on VCHA to continue this legacy.

Marking the grand finale and a fresh start of the 'A2K' project, VCHA's pre-debut single 'SeVit (NEW LIGHT)' and title track 'Y.O.Universe' will be released on music platforms on September 22nd at 1 PM (12 AM Eastern Time). VCHA will also make consecutive appearances on domestic music broadcasts to meet their fans.
