Singer Lee Hyori has vowed to work hard after overcoming her feelings of depression.
On September 17, Lee Hyori held a solo performance at the '2023 Hyundai Card Da Vinci Motel' concert in Seoul.
Opening the show with her hit song 'U-GO-Girl', she continued to captivate the audience with performances of 'Seoul', 'Barbershop Daughter', 'Blue Rain', '10 Minutes', 'Hey Girl', 'Chitty Chitty Bang Bang', and 'Miss Korea'. Notably, she recreated her performance of the advertisement song 'Anyclub', which was a sensation during her early peak years, drawing explosive reactions from the crowd.
Lee Hyori mentioned, "It's been so long since I've performed this close to fans. It feels overwhelming. I see that my fans have aged alongside me. It's comforting to know we're growing old together."
Responding to fans shouting "We love you!", she joked, "My husband is here. Be careful with your confessions!" When fans claimed to love her more than her husband, Lee Sang-soon, she playfully responded, "I'll graciously accept your love."
Currently residing in Jeju Island with her musician husband, Lee Sang-soon, Lee Hyori announced, "I'll be moving back to Seoul soon." She had previously hinted at this during the press conference for the recently concluded tvN show 'Wandering Dance Singers', expressing her intention to focus on her primary career as a singer.
Lee Hyori shared, "I don't know when, but I'll return to you all. I plan to have fun, make music, help my juniors, meet my seniors, and fulfill my role in the industry."
She opened up about her past struggles, saying, "I didn't realize it, but I think I had been dealing with depression for a while. I didn't recognize it until I realized that my time in Jeju, my dogs, and my husband helped me heal."
She added, "Being in the entertainment industry for so long, there were many events, both spoken and unspoken, that didn't make the headlines. If I were to share everything, we'd be here all night. Those challenging times have now become a source of strength. Now, when I come to Seoul and see each one of you, I feel immense happiness."
Answering a fan's question about where she stayed in Seoul, she mentioned, "I have a studio apartment I stay in whenever I come to Seoul. It's just for sleeping." When asked about her recent advertisements, she playfully responded, "It's a bit difficult to share which commercials I've filmed right now."
Lee Hyori expressed her enthusiasm, "I've prepared hard for this concert, and I'll be shooting several commercials soon. I'll earn a lot, donate a lot, and plan many fun activities for everyone. I once doubted myself, thinking I might not be able to do it anymore, but I've realized it was just my own limiting belief."
She concluded, "If you ever think 'Maybe it's not for me anymore', discard that thought. It's just a self-imposed belief. Even if the response isn't like before, let's enjoy and do what we want. I'll create many fun moments with you all. Let's live joyfully. I love you all."
