BLACKPINK's Lisa has revealed the backstory of her appearance on the stage of France's renowned cabaret, "Crazy Horse."

From September 28 to 30, Lisa will grace the stage of "Crazy Horse" in France as a guest performer for a total of five shows.

"Crazy Horse" is one of Paris's top three cabarets, alongside "Moulin Rouge" and "Lido", showcasing performances centered around women and art. Notably, "Crazy Horse" features a striptease illuminated by strategic lighting. When it first came to Korea in 2015, it was rated as inappropriate for teenagers. Given Lisa's status as a "global superstar" representing K-pop, concerns have been raised about her participation in an R-rated show.

However, Lisa, addressing these concerns, expressed her excitement, saying, "I'm really looking forward to this stage," and shared a photo taken inside "Crazy Horse", hinting at her upcoming risqué performance.

The director overseeing "Crazy Horse", André De Saint-Berg, shared insights about recruiting Lisa in an interview with Elle France. He mentioned that Lisa was a fan of "Crazy Horse", having attended their shows multiple times and even visiting the performers backstage. Recognizing this as a golden opportunity, he approached her, saying, "Sometimes, luck finds us." While "Crazy Horse" has previously hosted stars like Dita Von Teese and Pamela Anderson with special stages tailored for them, Lisa will be performing existing numbers like 'Crisis? What Crisis' and 'But I Am a Good Girl'. This was reportedly at Lisa's request.

Lisa secretly prepared for this performance in Paris. During BLACKPINK's Paris concert in July, she repeatedly visited "Crazy Horse" for rehearsals. The director emphasized, "We kept the entire process under wraps."

The "Crazy Horse" team anticipates that Lisa's participation will attract a new audience demographic. André De Saint-Berg expressed, "Young women are our future audience. 'Crazy Horse' symbolizes women's pride, freedom, and curiosity. I believe Lisa will showcase these symbols through this performance."

However, concerns about Lisa's participation in the show haven't subsided. Some argue that she's contributing to the objectification of women, while others criticize her decision to perform in a show akin to a striptease, deeming it irresponsible for a star who influences the cultural trends of teens and young adults.

Additionally, rumors have swirled about Lisa not renewing her contract with YG Entertainment. However, both parties remain tight-lipped about the matter.
