In a Hollywood twist befitting of a soap opera, Shar Jackson, the former fiancée of Kevin Federline, challenges the narrative pop sensation Britney Spears presents in her recent memoir, "The Woman In Me."

In the memoir, which hit shelves on October 24, Spears writes about her shock upon learning that Federline had children, saying, "I had no idea until after we'd been together for a while and someone told me, 'You know he has a new baby, right?'" According to the pop icon, when she discovered the truth about Federline's fatherhood status, she confronted him with an incredulous, "You have kids? You have children? Not only one child but two children."

Yet, Jackson paints a different picture, countering that Spears was aware of Federline's children from the start. She even recalled an instance where Spears purportedly waited outside an Orange County hospital for two hours during Jackson's delivery of their second child, Kaleb.

Jackson, who first met Federline at a dance studio, detailed the trajectory of their relationship. After approximately a year, the couple moved in together, subsequently getting engaged after the birth of their daughter, Kori. By the time Federline met Spears at a Los Angeles nightclub in 2004, the couple had been together for two years, with Jackson pregnant with Kaleb. Federline had also assumed the role of stepfather to Jackson's two children from a previous relationship.

While their professional circles had occasionally overlapped - Jackson mentioned meeting Spears during her relationship with Justin Timberlake - the betrayal felt personal. Jackson recounted an episode to the Daily Mail: "One day, when I had bad morning sickness and was about six months pregnant, Kevin had an audition for a coke commercial or something in LA... then I didn't hear from him for three days."

She expressed her devastation when she learned of Federline's escapades with Spears after seeing photos of the two on a beach. This, despite Federline assuring Jackson he was away for a commercial shoot. Jackson remembered the emotions vividly, stating she "felt betrayed and crushed" by the revelation.

The whirlwind romance between Spears and Federline culminated in a 2004 marriage. The couple, during their time together, had two children - Sean and Jayden. They split in 2006. Remarkably, through the turmoil, Federline and Jackson managed to maintain a cordial relationship. Offering her perspective on Spears' union with Federline, Jackson deemed it a "fantasy", opining that "anything built on a rocky foundation isn't going to last and they started rocky because he was in a relationship."
