Blackpink (Rosé, Jennie, Jisoo, Lisa) and their agency, YG Entertainment (hereafter YG), have kept silent on the status of their contract renewal.

Blackpink, who debuted in August 2016, had their 7-year exclusive contract with YG coming to an end this past August. They had been in negotiations regarding contract renewals, yet both parties have not made any official announcements even after roughly three months.

There are speculations that three of the Blackpink members (Lisa, Jennie, Jisoo), excluding Rosé, have decided not to renew their contracts with YG. Rumors also circulate that Jennie and Jisoo are planning to establish their own individual agencies.

Regarding this, YG commented on September 25th to Newsen, "There is nothing confirmed regarding Blackpink's renewal and future activities." Since then, there has been no official word from YG. Similarly, the four members of Blackpink have continued their individual activities, such as photoshoots and advertisements, without expressing any stance on the contract renewal.

Amid this, media outlet KBIZoom reported on October 27th that Thai actress Diana Flipo, who is known to be close with Lisa, recently mentioned Lisa and YG's contract renewal in an interview. She said that they will know about Lisa's renewal with YG when the time comes and clarified that she never asked Lisa about it.

Over the past seven years, Blackpink solidified their status as representative K-pop group by releasing hits like 'Whistle', 'BOOMBAYAH', 'Playing with Fire', 'STAY', 'As If It's Your Last', 'DDU-DU DDU-DU', 'Kill This Love', 'How You Like That', 'Lovesick Girls', and 'Pink Venom'.

This year, Blackpink reaffirmed their global stature through a major world tour. Jennie, on September 16th and 17th during the 'BLACKPINK WORLD TOUR BORN PINK FINALE IN SEOUL' held at Gocheok Sky Dome in Guro District, Seoul, remarked, "This year marks our 7th year since debut. Thank you BLINKs for always supporting and loving us. We will strive to always be the amazing Blackpink you know. We love and thank you."
