According to World Music Awards (WMA), 'GOLDEN' by Jungkook has achieved this milestone in record time, making it the first-ever K-pop solo artist album to surpass 1.7 billion streams (before filtering) on Spotify.
The album reached this landmark only 22 days after its release, crossing 1.7 billion streams on the morning of November 25th. This achievement came just six days after 'GOLDEN' had recorded 1.6 billion streams, demonstrating its immense global popularity and impact.
Upon its release, 'GOLDEN' garnered an impressive 42.75 million streams (before filtering) on its first day, marking the highest streaming debut ever for an Asian solo artist's album and kick-starting its commercial success.
Additionally, on the release date of 'GOLDEN', the album dominated Spotify's 'Daily Top Songs Global' chart. Its tracks 'Seven' reached No. 1, 'Standing Next to You' No. 2, '3D' No. 7, 'Hate You' No. 16, 'Yes or No' No. 18, 'Please Don't Change' No. 23, 'Closer to You' No. 24, 'Somebody' No. 27, 'Shot Glass of Tears' No. 28, and 'Too Sad To Dance' No. 29, with all ten songs from the album occupying top ranks.
'GOLDEN' also swept the No. 1 spot across Spotify's 'Top Album Debut Global', 'Top Album Debut USA', and 'Top Album Debut UK' charts.
Jungkook's personal Spotify profile has accumulated over 3.6 billion streams (before filtering), setting another record as the first and fastest achievement by a K-pop solo artist.
'GOLDEN' also made an impressive debut on the U.S. Billboard main album chart, 'Billboard 200', entering at No. 2 and tying for the highest ranking ever achieved by a K-pop solo artist. It also claimed the top spots on the 'Top Sales Album' and 'Top Current Album' charts.
Internationally, 'GOLDEN' debuted at No. 3 on the UK Official Albums Top 100 Chart, marking the highest ranking ever for a K-pop solo artist's album in the UK.
Furthermore, 'GOLDEN' achieved No. 1 on iTunes album charts in major music markets including the U.S., UK, Japan, France, Canada, Australia, Netherlands, and Germany. It has also topped iTunes album charts in a total of 90 countries, maintaining the No. 1 spot for seven consecutive days on both the Worldwide and European iTunes album charts.
