K-pop group BTS has taken their last complete group photo before 2025 due to members enlisting in the military.
On the 11th, RM and V enlisted at the Nonsan Training Center in Chungnam. They will undergo basic military training before serving as active-duty soldiers in the army. Notably, V applied to serve in the special mission battalion of the Capital Defense Command.
Big Hit Music, their management company, did not hold any official events on the day of their enlistment to avoid safety issues due to fan gatherings. However, the BTS members gathered to send off RM and V in their last complete group appearance.
Jin, J-Hope, and Suga, who are already serving their military duties, took leaves to join the farewell. Jimin and Jungkook, who are set to enlist the next day, were also present. Jin and V, who are in military service, wore their uniforms, and Suga, serving as a public service worker, joined in casual attire for a group photo.
With RM and V unable to join Jimin and Jungkook's enlistment the next day, this became the last group photo of all members together until their complete return post-military service in 2025.
Previously, when Jin and J-Hope enlisted, the group also gathered to bid them farewell, showing their strong bond.
On the 10th, RM shared his feelings on the global fan community platform Weverse, saying, "The day has finally come. I've always said that an end is also a new beginning! I believe that after this passes, something good awaits us. Seokjin and Hoseok, who had to endure this time before us, must have had it harder. Hoping that when we return, we will meet again with open hearts, filled with heart-to-heart connections. Goodbye for now, and when we return, we'll greet you with another hello."
V also expressed, "The biggest difficulty is not being able to see ARMY for a while. The 18 months I will be away, I will return much healthier, so I hope ARMY also stays healthy and happy. Just like we always do, let's create precious memories again when I return."
Following Jin's enlistment in December last year and J-Hope's in April as an active-duty soldier, and Suga's in September as a public service worker, RM and V have now enlisted together, and Jimin and Jungkook will follow the next day. BTS's complete group activities are expected to resume in the second half of 2025.
