BTS's Jungkook has illuminated his global popularity by recording over 500,000 U.S. sales with his solo album 'GOLDEN,' a first for a K-pop solo artist this year.

According to the official account of the 'World Music Awards' (WMA), often referred to as the 'Billboard of Europe,' Jungkook's 'GOLDEN,' released on November 3rd, has sold over 500,000 units in the United States.

With 'GOLDEN,' Jungkook has become the first K-pop solo artist to achieve over half a million album sales in the U.S. in 2023, demonstrating his overwhelming impact within less than a month of the album's release. Previously, 'GOLDEN' had achieved record-breaking sales of over 200,000 units in its first week in the U.S., marking the highest sales for a K-pop solo artist's album.

'GOLDEN' debuted at number 2 on Billboard's main album chart, 'Billboard 200,' tying for the highest position ever achieved by a K-pop solo artist. It also debuted at number 1 on both the 'Top Sales Albums' and 'Top Current Albums' charts. Additionally, 'GOLDEN' entered at number 15 on the 'Top Streaming Albums' chart, a first for any K-pop artist.

Jungkook also made history by entering the top 20 of the 'Billboard 200' chart for four consecutive weeks, a record held by no other Asian solo artist.

Moreover, in the U.S. sales tally by Billboard, the title track of 'GOLDEN,' 'Standing Next To You,' maintained the number 1 spot on the 'Digital Song Sales' chart for three consecutive weeks, showcasing Jungkook's strong musical influence. Alongside this, his solo single 'Seven' achieved sales of over a million units in the U.S. in a record-breaking 71 days and received a Platinum certification from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).

Jungkook had previously achieved over a million U.S. sales with his solo track 'Euphoria' and the collaborative song 'Left and Right.'

Jungkook has demonstrated his unrivaled commercial success by placing three consecutive songs, 'Seven' at number 1, '3D' at number 5, and 'Standing Next To You' at number 5, within the top 5 of Billboard's main singles chart, 'Hot 100,' establishing himself as the first and only K-pop solo artist to achieve this feat.

'GOLDEN' was included in 'The Best Albums of 2023' by the New York Times (NYT) and 'The Best Albums Of 2023' by Uproxx.

Lastly, as of November 17th, 'GOLDEN' sold a total of 2,501,158 copies, making it the first solo album to surpass 2.5 million sales since the Hanter Chart revised its counting method in 2010.
