K-pop group LE SSERAFIM is riding high on the Billboard charts in the United States with their new song 'Perfect Night'.
According to the latest chart (dated December 23rd) released by Billboard, a prominent American music magazine, LE SSERAFIM (members Kim Chaewon, Sakura, Heo Yunjin, Kazuha, and Hong Eunchae) have seen their first English digital single 'Perfect Night' stay in the rankings for seven consecutive weeks, landing at 21st on the 'Global (Excl. US)' chart and 47th on the 'Global 200' chart.
The popularity of 'Perfect Night' is evident across various domestic and international charts. On Spotify, the world's largest music streaming platform, the song ranked 143rd on the 'Daily Top Songs Global' chart as of December 18th, charting for 51 consecutive days. It also continues to dominate the top spot in domestic music charts.
As a K-pop female artist's English track, 'Perfect Night' set a record by topping the Melon weekly chart for four consecutive weeks, a first in the genre. Additionally, it maintained the top position on the daily chart for 29 consecutive days (from November 20th to December 18th), continuously breaking Melon chart records. 'Perfect Night' is also maintaining its number one spot on the weekly chart of YouTube Music in Korea for the second week.
A track from LE SSERAFIM's first full album, 'Eve, Psyche and the Wife of Bluebeard,' was ranked third in the '25 best K-pop songs of 2023' by British magazine NME. NME highlighted the song's "Jersey club-based uptempo track, consistent electro chord progression, addictive beats, and languid vocals that contrast with them," particularly praising the depth in Heo Yunjin's voice in the "I'm a mess mess mess" segment.
Moreover, American magazine Teen Vogue selected the music video of the first album's title track 'UNFORGIVEN (feat. Nile Rodgers)' as one of 'The Best K-Pop Music Videos of 2023,' describing it as a portrayal of LE SSERAFIM breaking the rules set by the world and forging their own path.
