BTS Jin's "The Astronaut" continues to shine globally, surpassing a year since its release and still receiving immense love.

BTS Jin's debut solo single "The Astronaut" is still radiating global appeal, securing the 2nd spot on Spotify's 'Daily Top Songs United Arab Emirates' chart as of December 19th, local time. The Korean song "The Astronaut," co-composed and written by Jin in collaboration with the world-renowned band Coldplay, also ascended to the number 1 position on the same chart on its first anniversary, October 28th, demonstrating Jin's unwavering popularity even while serving as an army instructor.

"The Astronaut," released on October 28th last year, made an impressive entry at number 6 on the 'Daily Top Songs UAE' chart and has sustained its popularity ever since. It made a remarkable comeback on April 27th, reaching the 61st spot and then rapidly climbing to secure the number 1 position for five consecutive days from May 15th. It continued to dominate the chart on July 2nd, 6th, and 11th.

Furthermore, the song also topped the 'Weekly Top Songs UAE' chart for two consecutive weeks on June 29th and July 6th and once again on August 13th on Spotify's 'Daily Top Songs United Arab Emirates' chart.

"The Astronaut," Jin's heartfelt love song dedicated to fans before his military enlistment, was recognized as the first solo single by a Korean Music Content Association (KMCA) certified million-seller. Despite the competitive release period with new albums and songs from Taylor Swift and Rihanna, "The Astronaut" debuted at number 51 on the US Billboard Hot 100, marking an impressive achievement. It also debuted at number 1 on Billboard's 'Digital Song Sales Chart' and 'World Digital Song Sales Chart.'

In Japan, "The Astronaut" became the first song by a Korean solo artist in 2022 to receive a Gold certification from RIA. The music video also set a record as the first and longest for a K-pop solo artist, maintaining the number 1 position on 'YouTube's Worldwide Popular Music Videos' for 17 consecutive days, surpassing Jin's previous record with "Super Tuna."

Additionally, "The Astronaut" was included in the 98 songs of Amazon Web Services Sales Kickoff 23 (AWS SKO 23), the world's number 1 public cloud service, alongside timeless legends like The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, and Queen. Jin's selection as the sole Asian solo artist among these legends reaffirms his status as a top global soloist and vocal king.

Lastly, "The Astronaut" positioned Jin at the highest rank among Asian solo artists in Rolling Stone's 'Top 100 Songs of 2022,' acknowledging his exceptional musicality and talent.
