Princess Kate's allegedly ailing marriage and humiliating family fake photo scandal have exploded into another devastating crisis that the struggling monarchy cannot afford.
The Princess of Wales' fairy tale marriage is now said to be hanging by a thread after rumors circulated that her husband, Prince William, was romancing their stunning neighbor Rose Hanbury while Kate recovered from grueling abdominal surgery.
“Kate was apoplectic as the gossip spread through high society circles. I’m told she couldn’t believe what she was hearing, especially as she goes through a slow, painful recovery,” an unnamed source told National Enquirer.
Blueblood Rose and her husband, moviemaker David Rocksavage, live near Prince William and Princess Kate's country retreat, Anmer Hall, and are longtime royal family friends.
“There has long been talk that, with her pedigree, Rose would have been an ideal match for William. People say he’s carried a torch for her years and has told friends she was ‘the one that got away,” a courtier told the entertainment news outlet.
“I hear Kate confronted William when rumors first surfaced he was having an affair with Rose several years ago but he denied everything and even tried to laughed off the chatter. But she’s having none of it now,” the tipster continued.
More trouble erupted after informants claimed Princess Kate was pressured to release a photo of her three children - Princes George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis - to commemorate Britain's Mother's Day on March 10 and silence discussion of her illness and marriage problems.
However, stressed-out Princess Kate unintentionally exposed the marital schism when she manipulated the family photo. She removed her wedding ring, among other changes, from the photo, before approving its publication.
“The fact she put out the photo without her wedding ring indicates there is trouble in paradise,” the palace insider noted.
Princess Kate was then forced to admit she had edited the photo, and sources say cancer-stricken King Charles ordered her and Prince William to do damage control. They were soon photographed leaving Windsor Castle together in a chauffeured car, but the image that emerged did not depict loving spouses.
“The looked like two strangers who wanted to be anywhere other than in that car together. Kate was looking away from William as he focused on his phone, seemingly ignoring her. Kate knows the pressure is on her and William to resolve their issues for the sake of the crown, but the latest scandal could be the final nail in their marital coffin,” the palace spy went on.
Kensington Palace declined to comment on the claims that Prince William is cheating on Princess Kate with Rose Hanbury. On the other hand, Business Insider reported that Hanbury, through her lawyers, has called the infidelity rumors “completely false.”
