The famous duo arrived separately at Studio 54 for the final performance of “Alan Cumming Is Not Acting His Age” but did not catch up until the interval when onlookers say the pair made a beeline for one another.
“It was electric! They greeted each other like old friends and appeareed to have lots to talk about. They’re both obsessed eith theater, so it’s understandable, but this is the first time they’ve seen each other since his divorce, so they were flirting big time. Hugh had twinkle in his eye for the rest of the night after they promised to meet up again soon,” an unnamed source told Woman’s Day Australia.
“They’d make an amazing couple—everyone in that room went home that night thinking they’d seen the birth of a new power couple,” the insider continued.
Hugh and Katie have known each other for years, but sources suggest Tom Cruise’s third wife got to know the Aussie hunk and his then-wife, Deborra-lee Furness, in 2019 when they spoke at the launch of Global Goal Live.
In September, PEOPLE reported that Hugh and Deborah amicably ended their marriage after 27 years.
