Miley Cyrus has struck sweet revenge on her estranged father, Billy Ray Cyrus, right where it hurts charts, a new report claimed.
The 31-year-old "Party in the USA" singer's new duet, "II Most Wanted," off Beyoncé's debut country album, is outperforming papa Billy's most recent duet, "After the Storm," with wife Firerose.
“Miley teaming with Beyonce is a major coup. Cowboy Carter is the most talked about album this century. Billy Ray’s already recorded three duets with Firerose that turned out to be duds and Miley’s upstaging his new one. He’s desperate to make wife a star – but the public is just yawning!” an insider told The National Enquirer.
In 2022, Miley's 62-year-old father divorced her mother, Tish, which strained their already troubled relationship. She didn't even show up to his wedding to his 34-year-old new bride in October!
“It gives Miley satisfaction she’s the toast of the music world right now while her dad can’t get arrested,” a source sniped.
Most, if not all, fans are aware that the father-daughter duo, who delivered fans Hannah Montana, is dealing with some off-screen strife, which they may not be able to overcome through song. Miley Cyrus wasn't on speaking terms with her father, Billy Ray, long before he married his fiancée, Firerose.
Billy Ray and Tish, Miley's mother, were married for nearly 30 years. The couple filed for divorce in 2010, then again in 2013, before reuniting both times, The Sun reported.
When the two split up for the third time in April 2022, Miley was apparently on Team Tish. By August 2023, Miley had unfollowed her father on Instagram.
Tish and Billy Ray had apparently been living apart for more than two years prior to their divorce.
While it has not been confirmed, Billy Ray's connection with his new wife, Johanna Rosie Hodges, could be to responsible for the ongoing father-daughter conflict. It's hardly improbable that it's due to her stepmother, who is only four years her senior.
Only a few months after her parents' divorce was announced, Miley's father became engaged to Australian singer Firerose, who is only four years older than her.
Following their engagement in August 2023, people saw Miley unfollowed her father on Instagram the same month. To add fuel to the flames, Tish Cyrus married Prison Break actor Dominic Purcell on August 19, 2023. The couple married in a private ceremony in Malibu.
Her son Trace, daughter Brandy, and Miley, who served as maid of honor, were all in attendance.
Firerose and Billy Ray met more than a decade ago, when she auditioned for a role on Hannah Montana.
"Since then, he's been a phenomenal supporter of my music. He's just really believed in me and continued to tell me to pursue my dreams no matter what and not give up. The music industry is not easy, but he's been just a really, really incredible support,” She told Kelly Ripa on “Live with Kelly and Ryan.”
During the pandemic, the two began collaborating on music, and their friendship apparently blossomed. The couple married after a year of dating. Billy Ray shared photographs from the elaborate celebration on Instagram.
