Divorce rumors have been hounding the marriage of Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez for quite some time now. While the couple has kept mum about the real status of their romance, fans and critics alike have been speculating the degree of truthfulness of these split reports.
Up to this writing, neither Ben nor Jennifer has publicly addressed the ongoing divorce speculations. However, we found two reasons that could prove that Ben and Jennifer’s marriage is really over.
Ben Affleck, Jennifer Lopez Publicly List Beverly Hills Mansion for $68 Million Amid Divorce Rumors
One indication that Ben and Jennifer are moving closer to ending their marriage is the fact that they have made public the listing of the Beverly Hills property that they bought in May 2023 for a price of $68 million. This is something that In Touch Weekly can confirm.
The listing for the property with twelve bedrooms and twenty-four bathrooms was published on Thursday, July 11. The property, which is 38,000 square feet in size and located on a five-acre promontory, was initially purchased by the couple for the price of 60 million dollars as their marriage residence.
“Recently renovated with the highest level of quality within the last 4 months,” the MLS listing noted about the home, which was described as a “newly rebuilt and expanded masterpiece.”
Ben has already moved out, the entertainment news outlet exclusively reported on May 15. “The writing is on the wall – it’s over They’re headed for a divorce – and for once, [Ben’s] not to blame!” an unnamed source claimed.
“They’ll likely have to sell the dream house they spent two years searching for. They’ll never stop loving each other, but she can’t control him, and he can’t change her. There’s no way it could have lasted,” the insider went on.
In Brentwood, California, Ben, who is 51 years old and has been living in a rental home for $100,000, has been in close proximity to his ex-wife, Jennifer Garner, and their three children, PageSix reported.
At the beginning of June, additional photographs of the interiors and exteriors of the home were uploaded to Zillow, which fueled the speculation that the couple was going their own ways by selling their home.
Ben and Jennifer Lopez were working with realtor Santiago Arana from The Agency, according to a report that was published on June 8 by TMZ. Arana had been privately showing the home to potential buyers for "about two weeks," but there had been no purchasers interested in purchasing it.
During the little time that Ben and Jennifer were together in the property, the newly posted photographs demonstrated how the couple made the most of their time there. There was a room that included lavish massage tables that were placed next to one another, a gym that featured basketball and pickleball courts with a high ceiling and chandelier lighting, and a big glam area that featured barber chairs, mani-pedi stations, and mirrored walls with lighting that was comparable to that of a movie set.
On March 1, a source told In Touch Weekly that money was a point of contention between the pair, including their lavish mansion. “Ben was thinking more along the lines of $20 million for the house. But Jen overruled him,” the informant claimed.
“Their bills are through the roof. It’s all eating away at their bank accounts, the tipster added, citing the “Let’s Get Loud” singer’s love of private jets, designer shopping sprees, and more.
Ben and Jennifer were reunited for the school play of his child Fin on May 16, in photographs that were obtained exclusively by In Touch. This came after they had not been pictured together for a period of 47 days.
In late May, Ben and Jennifer reunited for a short period of time for a number of activities that were related to their families. These activities included Ben's daughter Violet and son Sam's respective graduations from school. Following their attendance at a school event for Jennifer's daughter Emme, the couple was captured on camera looking nervous as they made their way to dinner at the exclusive SoHo House in West Hollywood on May 19.
Ben Affleck Spotted Without Wedding Ring in Los Angeles Days Ahead of Second Wedding Anniversary With Jennifer Lopez
During a recent outing in Los Angeles, Ben did not wear his wedding band, which came as a result of rumors that his marriage to Jennifer was experiencing difficulties.
On Wednesday, July 10, the “Deep Water” star was seen driving to his workplace. This occurred just a few days before his second anniversary with Jennifer, who is 54 years old, on July 16. The ring finger on his left hand was bare, despite the fact that he was wearing a watch and a navy sportcoat. As he drove the car, Ben seemed to be making adjustments to a device that was located on his dashboard.
Following the fact that he and Jennifer spent the Fourth of July weekend on opposite coasts, the sighting of the actor from "Good Will Hunting" comes quite close to the heels of that. In the town of Bridgehampton, New York, the singer known for her hit song "Let's Get Loud" was spotted with her manager, Benny Medina.
During the outing to the store with her pals, Jennifer was wearing a charm bracelet that had the letter "B," in addition to her wedding ring, InStyle reported. It was during the promotion of her J. Lo Beauty line that she had previously stepped away from the ring.
Ben, who is 51 years old, has been seen on multiple occasions without his wedding ring, and the couple has been seen attending a number of events without each other. The "Town" star was not present when Jennifer arrived at the Met Gala on May 6; she was there by herself, as per Us Weekly.
The official explanation that Ben gave was that he was "busy filming," but on May 15, a source revealed to In Touch in an exclusive interview that the two were prepared to end their relationship.
“The writing is on the wall – it’s over. They’re headed for a divorce – and for once, [Ben’s] not to blame!” the mole explained.
“He’s focusing on his work and his kids now. Ben already moved out and they’ll likely have to sell the dream house they spent two years searching for. They’ll never stop loving each other, but she can’t control him, and he can’t change her. There’s no way it could have lasted,” it continued.
Together with her longtime producing partner, Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas, the singer who is well known for her single "I'm Real" was seen exploring the Beverly Hills real estate market the day before, as per SheKnows. On May 14, the friends were observed going to a luxury house in the neighborhood.
A few weeks later, TMZ reported that the couple was looking to sell their Beverly Hills property. The property was located in the Beverly Hills neighborhood. It was claimed that the actor from "Argo" and Jennifer were collaborating with Santiago Arana, a real estate agent from The Agency, which is a company that was established by Mauricio Umansky, who is known for his role on "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills."
The “Gigli” costars got back together on June 2 at Ben's son Samuel's basketball game, but it seemed as though things were tense between them as they attempted an uncomfortable air-kiss. The actress from "Hustlers" was reportedly willing to do everything in order to salvage her marriage, according to a second source interviewed by In Touch.
“Jennifer is doing anything in her power to control this situation, unpleasant as it is. She’s going to the kids’ events to show Ben that things haven’t changed for her, she’s still his wife, she loves him no matter what, and she loves his kids like they were her own,” the tattler suggested.
“Jennifer’s not stupid. She knows that attending Violet’s graduation and Samuel’s basketball game makes her look good, it’s also a way to stay close to Ben and their blended family,” the spy continued.
Since then, Ben and Jennifer have been separated for the duration of the summer. Halfway through the month of June, she went on a trip to the Italian Riviera by herself, while he stayed in Los Angeles.
During the Fourth of July weekend, Jennifer made the decision to remain in the Hamptons with her longtime manager Benny Medina and vocal coach Stevie Mackey. Meanwhile, the "Gone Girl" star spent his holiday in Los Angeles with his children.
