Shiloh Jolie-Pitt, the daughter of Brad Pitt, is taking legal action to expedite the approval of her request to remove her father's well-known surname, a new report claimed.

As per court documents acquired by In Touch Weekly, Shiloh, who is 18 years old, recently placed an advertisement in The Los Angeles Times to publicize the petition she submitted. Angelina Jolie's daughter is obligated to publish a notice in the local newspaper prior to the court's approval of her petition.

The newspaper notice clarifies that Shiloh has submitted a formal request to legally change their name from Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt to Shiloh Nouvel Jolie. All those with an interest in this subject or those who oppose the granting of the petition are required to attend the court session scheduled for later this month.

As previously reported, Shiloh filed her petition in Los Angeles on her 18th birthday, which was on May 27. During her court appearance, she stated that the motive behind discarding her last name was "personal," without providing any elaboration.

A reliable source claimed that Angelina's daughter, Shiloh, independently sought legal representation and covered all expenses personally. It stated that "Angie is unaware and unable to provide information about it." Brad, who is 60 years old, was caught off guard by the decision.

“He feels that Angie has slowly but surely turned their kids against him. She absolutely influenced their decisions to distance themselves from their dad,” the anonymous insider told the entertainment news outlet.

Following Shiloh's plea, another informant with direct knowledge of Brad's situation talked to PEOPLE Magazine. “He’s aware and upset that Shiloh dropped his last name. He’s never felt more joy than when she was born. He always wanted a daughter. The reminders that he’s lost his children, is of course not easy for Brad. He loves his children and misses them. It’s very sad,” it claimed.

“He still loves all of his kids tremendously. This whole process has been very hard for the whole family,” another tipster told the publication.

Brad and Angelina have a total of six children. Their names and ages are as follows: Maddox (22), Zahara (19), Shiloh (unknown age), Pax (20), and the twins Knox and Vivienne (both 15). During a recent college event, it appears that Zahara, the daughter of Angelina and Brad, decided to no longer use her father's last name and instead referred to herself as Zahara Marley Jolie.

The former partners have been engaged in a legal dispute since their separation in 2016, which occurred after an altercation on a private aircraft. Angelina alleged that Brad engaged in physical aggression towards her and their children. He refuted her account of the events or his involvement in the abuse.

Brad was investigated by the FBI and the Department of Children and Family Services, but he was not charged with any crimes.

“Brad has owned everything he’s responsible for from day one—unlike the other side—but he’s not going to own anything he didn’t do. He has been on the receiving end of every type of personal attack and misrepresentation. Thankfully, the various public authorities the other side has tried to use against him over the past six years have made their own independent decisions. Brad will continue to respond in court as he has consistently done,” the “Troy” actor’s lawyer said in 2022.

In addition, Brad and Angelina are presently engaged in a dispute on the ownership of the French vineyard Chateau Miraval, which they acquired while they were married. He said that Angelina had sold her ownership share in the company to a Russian oligarch, who is actively trying to gain control of the company, without obtaining his permission, despite an alleged agreement not to do so.

Angelina refuted all accusations of misconduct. She asserted her innocence in regards to the sale of her ownership interest. The court battle is currently in progress.
